The japanese translations could be different, but the English ones the same. Many many items/spells/abilities/mobs/etc. etc. are named differently in Japanese.
Or it's because one is a food and one is a throwing item, though that doesn't seem like a valid excuse.
But hmm.. that could be confusing for the Opo-Opo Crown quest, maybe it will be changed in a later patch. Obviously the easter event item can't be used because all items work on ID codes and not names, but that could confuse the hell outta someone who didn't know.
