Reinstallation probs

I've just reinstalled FFXI after my comp compltely fuked me over and I can't, for the life of me get it to work. If it's not one problem it's another. This time, everytime I download the FFXI patches (not expansion) it comes up with an error right after it counts the 8000 or so files it's going to download. RIGHT after they are all counted, BAM POL error 1154. I really need help with this, I have the shakes already.

Hmm, due to a number of problems with the data on your HDD, the version up failed.

I'd recommend this:
1. do a proper chkdisk first
2. install FFXI and Zilart
3. is there a "check files" option you can run for FFXI before the version up screen?

I always thought you had to DL the FFXI patches FIRST, THEN install Zilart

That's the Japanese version....

And by using my super ‚©‚½‚©‚È skills, it says something about hard drive date(error?) XD

I have the JP ver, it seemed i did have to install the expansion first.

But, yay i have another prob, after logging back onto POL and ijust get past the POL prog and its just about to load FFXI character screen, it prompts me to insert FFXI/POL disk2 and when i do that it either, A:crashes or B:Tries to DL the entire patch over again.
