  • X on-track for 2014

Monolith's X is still on track for 2014, for both Japan and the west - Destructoid

Kind of surprised for what little is still known about it and the title still sounding tentative.

Hyrule Warriors, which still looks meh to me, seems to have a summer release in Japan. I still stand by my opinion the game is just a pathetic and desperate cash grab.

And I'm saying this on the heels of them also announcing NFC figurines for some future games. I'd actually be all over a Zelda, Metroid or Fire Emblem series of those but I have a feeling its going to be more of a Pokemon or Mario thing.

Good to know it's still set for this year ^_^

About the only major title I'm really looking forward too on the Wii U other than possibly Smash.

Someone posted this image in the responses. Probably the best thing I've seen all week.

          Re: X on-track for 2014

There was various Xenoblade news this week. Xenoblade Chronicles X will be roughly five times larger than the proir game, largely to scale the world to suit the mechs you'll be using.

Xenoblade Chronicles will be seeing a rerelease for the *New* 3DS thanks to its bump in processing and the addition of a small c-stick and new buttons. Yes, New 3DS is what theyre calling it, at least in Japan. Think of this new 3DS as what GBC was to classic Game Boy and expect people to act like the sky is falling anf throw "fracturing" around a bit. I think it was time for a new iteration that wasn't just bumping up screen sizes.

Also Shulk was confirmed for Smash. Essentially confirming all other recent leaks. Duck Hunt Dog, Falco, Dorf and Dark Pit are also in, but it appears Lucas and Ness are out this time.

Good Ness sucked anyway. That's interesting that they added Shulk, personally I would have preferred Dunban. Makes me wonder now if anyone from The Last Story or the hero from Pandora's Tower will be added (still waiting on Simon Belmont...)

can't wait for X now so awesome. I was (very) late to the party last night, not letting that happen again.

Ness was one of the leaks, though, wasn't he?

Duck Hunt Dog almost makes as much sense as Pac-Man. Almost.

One thing's for certain, though. Clone Characters Confirmed.

                  I overlooked Ness, he's in.

I think Falco and Ganondorf had to be put in or people would shit the bed, though we don't know how much they're clones. Lucina does have some differences from Marth, so we'll see.

I'm actually happy about the dog, he could be a great troll.

                    Re: X on-track for 2014

Eh, all of the Melee clones that made it to Brawl always played completely differently from their counterparts. Almost every one of Fox/Falco's moves behaved differently even in Melee and they took extra steps to differentiate them in Brawl. Ganon has more overlap with Falcon but the huge differences in size, speed, and the moves where they differ makes them totally different beasts. In my opinion the only clones that were too similar to each other were Mario/Dr. Mario and Pikachu/Pichu.

Yeah the main thing with Pichu being he's strictly worse since he hurts himself and handles worse.

Pichu hit harder than Pikachu if I remember correctly. But yeah, that can't compensate for being the lightest character in the game plus hurting itself.
