    The Last of Us combat forces you to think through the situation, devs say | Joystiq

    Naughty Dog is looking to make The Last of Us the most realistic fungal-zombie-apocalypse game ever created. Game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann let slip a few details about combat mechanics in a video interview with Game Informer: Health will not automatically regenerate; Ellie, your AI companion, will be intelligent enough to throw bricks and other materials at your enemies, and she won't break your "stealth" mode; and it may include Uncharted-esque playable cinematics, but in more intimate environments.

    Straley and Druckmann discuss combat moments as part strategy, part shooter, and say they're infusing the title with realistic reactions from NPCs and the protagonist alike. Watch the entire interview here.

    This is shaping up to be a major GotY contender IMO. I especially love that Ellie can take care of herself (no need to escort here everywhere or issue commands) & she won't blow your cover. Though I will be disappointed if we don't at least get to take control of her at some point in the game. I was under the impression that we'd get to choose which character to play as for different points of view.

    I haven't played a naughty dog game for years. literally years on the megadrive. It was rings of power and i was so lost on it lol.

    This game looks pretty cool. off to yt for a look for some more vids.

            I had a little look at naughty dog.
            I've played the crash bandicoot games lol.

            I had a look at uncharted, it looks good. I generally only go for rpg's mainly "old" style. It looks like a game my dad would have played so I'll go ask him, he's probably got it to steal like I will be with the darkness lol

              It's about the closest thing to an Indiana Jones game, but done right.

                Looking forward to seeing more of this game.

                Though I gotta say, GotY will probably go to the (GE)Creation Kit.




                PS > Yep, even though consoles don't even get mods. That's just how good it is. XD

                  Jury's still out on that one if the Tomb Raider reboot has anything to say about it.

                  I could never get into Uncharted because of its uncanny valley creepiness. What's even more strange is that that everyone else looks and animates right except for Nathan Drake.
