New trailer shows MP gameplay!

Oh mew! The other alien races are customizable and usable too, mew! 0.0 Looks very intense! Oh and it seems like there is galaxy location selection, so there might be more than one location or co-op missions! I heard somewhere there are about 800,000 pre-orders so far. Ya the first two were good but this might be even better!

If they had developed something like the first game I would've been in trouble trying to keep my BW/EA boycott going.

Still a little disappointed they went the multi-player route, but too late at this point. As long as the single-player remains unaffected, anyhow.

Tough choice between a Quarian or Salarian.

Actually it is affected by the multiplayer.

The multiplayer is a new ploy to lock away additional single player content. If you want to see every corner of the SP campaign, doing online co-op is a requirement.

Enjoy dealing with racist 14 year olds to see it all!

that is not troo, wtfbbq! The multiplayer is optional. You can still do 100% of the story and get the best result and stuff without needing to play multiplayer (confirmed by Bioware), also besides playing with people online, the multiplayer can "help" players have an easier time in the story (I guess the difficulty goes down and easier to get better results based on your achievements in multiplayer), but still they confirmed everything in the rpg can be earned without multiplayer, including the best cutscenes, mew!

Maybe you should pay closer attention to what Bioware actually says.

I've read the interviews that were posted weeks ago - they directly stated that the multiplayer component unlocks areas and content that would not otherwise be available in the main campaign. Its not mandatory, but it is indeed forcing multiplayer onto an experience that should not require it for the player that wants to see all the single player content.

Oh well, its just another step for Bioware on the downward spiral as far as I'm concerned. Their quality is dropping faster than any other western developer I've seen.

mew! The exclusives areas in multiplayer are just horde mode arenas, it's not like there are towns there to visit, it's just the front lines in a war, mew! Storywise, the Normandy crew would not be directly involved on those battlefields so storywise it doesn't make sense for Normandy to participate in those special forces missions. Multiplayer is basically a unique perspective in the form of a horde mode co-op mode, mew!

Doesn't really bother me. I have plenty of friends also getting the game. I've been wanting to be able to go co-op on a game like Mass Effect for years and I actually like that they are adding it. I never really understood the whole "Multiplayer means the game will suck" mentality.

Which reminds me. How's TOR doing? I haven't heard a thing about that game in a while. XD

If you ignore the PvP where there is literally no reason why you would every play anything not called "Trooper" or "Bounty Hunter" it's not too bad. They have been fixing a lot of the bugginess in the game but the game does punish you for going into the social side of MMOs. Rift did it best by giving you XP bonuses and gold drop bonuses for being in a party. SWTOR goes the opposite way by giving you worse rewards per kill in a party.

The PvE is great though, storylines are good and they use the FFXI style of cutscenes instead of dialogue boxes for storytelling. It will be a while before the game stops feeling like "KOTOR 3 with racist 14 year olds" though.

That said the MVP system in PvP is amusing. I once told some raging armchair generals that were abusing the group's only healer because they were losing, to go fuck themselves and got a vote from pretty much my entire team .

You just explained why people are so skeptical about the multiplayer, as it's something Bioware just isn't experienced enough at. Hell, take away the story and you have a duck and cover shooter that is literally nothing special.

Actually if they did more to encourage people to group up in SWTOR then the game would be much more fun.

it is a special shooter, mew! What other shooter takes place in Mass Effect universe and usable alien races? plus has a story that is much better than other shooters stories?
