Assassin's Creed: Revelations concludes Ezio's story this November | Joystiq
Really, really getting sick of Ezio but at least it's not in Italy again. God damn I was getting tired of Rome.
Would be nice though if we got a new character though, and maybe a more interesting choice of locales. Part of me is wondering when they're going to just go full-blown shooter and set us in the 19th or 20th centuries.
They can't keep it largely melee by the time we get to Desmond's final part, or that would just be stupid. "Oh, hai guyz, check out may cool wrist blade!" followed by Desmond getting blown away by MP5ks/M16s >_>p
At the very damned least I DEMAND a sniper rifle at some point. Not to mention fixes to some of the various other aspects that still plague the series such as (but not limited to):
- Horrible controls. Who's bright idea was it to map 3+ commands to one god damned button?
- Faulty auto-platforming. Beyond sick of screwing up jumps (usually by a freaking hair but sometimes going way off course) even though I pointed in the right direction.
- Retarded AI. I don't honestly remember if this was fixed in Metal Gear 4 or not, but so far the series suffers the same stupid nonsense of being able to stand just outside an AI's sight range, even in plain sight/open space. Just kinda breaks the immersion knowing that I can stand right in front of said retard AI, but be just far enough away (something like 10 meters max) and still somehow the dumb fuck miraculously doesn't notice me. While I'm at it, I'm also sick of AI's magically scaling buildings too, even the ones in heavy armor. Why is it that some commoner shmuck with no training in this sort of thing, is just as agile as a professional Assassin?! If they weren't already up on the roof or there's no nearby ladders then PISS OFF! Finally, as a final rant against the AI, why is it that when I'm notorious or in a restricted area, I still have just as much time as normal when spotted before they go into alert? When you're Notorious they're supposed to be actively looking for you, yet if you're quick you can waltz right by most AIs... again, really breaks the immersion and is just generally stupid & shouldn't happen.
- Every ranged weapon has the same range. Major what the crap on this. There's no freaking way, that a bloody crossbow is limited to the same range as a throwing knife, or especially not that ridiculous little pea-shooter that's mounted under the wrist. I call serious BS on multiple levels on that thing for that matter; Bullshit that whoever designed it (I think it was Da Vinci?) managed to make pellets small enough that would have any real stopping power. And even more bullshit that it would have any real accuracy to it; They were just starting to see widespread use of pistols in that era which of course were notoriously inaccurate. It wasn't until late into the 18th century that guns started to be very effective in combat at any kind of significant range. That little piece of crap can't possibly be accurate beyond 10~15 feet.
/rant over
^ Also, I know it's a game, but they're asking for it. In a series that praises itself on historical accuracy and a degree of realism, some of this shit is just plain absurd. Also forgot that sick of the retarded combat system, but at least the Killstreak System in Brotherhood helped speed combat up quite a bit.
Honestly, I mean... one Assassin vs 10+ armed guards, and it boils down to countering & killing them 1 by 1... yeah let's not just all charge the bastard at once and kill him horribly... - _ -
#1 Assassin's are killers, not fighters/soldiers. That's why Ninja never won against Samurai in a straight up fight.
#2 It again breaks the immersion and just hurts the notion of being a stealthy killer... Why even bother with the stealth when you're apparently a one-man army?

Tired of back-to-back installments of Assassin's Creed? Alright, how about a new game that places temporally separated protagonists Ezio and Altair back to back on the June issue of Game Informer? The mag's scoop for the month is Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which Ubisoft says will mark the end of Ezio's story when it launches this November.
Revelations promises answers (right there in the title, guys) within the game's cryptic, multi-generational plot -- spread out between three playable characters: A distinguished Ezio, who ventures to Constantinople amid the rise of the Ottoman Empire; 12th-century assassin Altair; and the descendant who ties them all together, Desmond.
The game is being led by Ubisoft Montreal, "with the support and expertise of Ubisoft studios Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest." The massive production will also mark the return of multiplayer (now with more everything), and the introduction of a new climbing hook.
After the break: A screenshot of Ezio as dangling participant in the Ottoman Empire's affairs.
