Re: Gamestop!
Wait what? You're not a woman on the internet. WTF why are you doing dishes? Why were you even in the kitchen in the first place? This makes no sense!

Re: Gamestop!
I see that result, but interpret it differently. To me that says that there is an overarching problem with Gamestop that is periodically kept in check by accident of responsible employees being present for a time. Once said employees leave, the stores go back to being crumby. This is a problem with management and the higher ups(read:not grunts working the register and stocking shelves). The higher ups fail to keep everyone in line with the good work the responsible employees were doing.Originally posted by Taskmage View PostSo, this suggests to me that you should recognize the problem is not Gamestops but the people who work at them. Your Gamestop was perfectly fine while you were working there, as I assume are BBQ and Kailea's stores when they are working there. The store didn't go to shit because it suddenly became more Gamestop but because a key responsible employee left.
Whether the experience with the handful of stores each person in this thread has patronized or been employed at can be generalized and taken as the norm in the millions of Gamestop outlets across the country is absolutely impossible to determine based on the data given and completely pointless to discuss. You can complain or brag all you want about the tidiness and customer service of your local Gamestop but that is utterly irrelevant to anyone else in this thread or how they should feel about Gamestops in general.
TL;DR: [ramble ramble ramble], Higher Ups are supposed to be responsible and make sure everyone's not doing a shitty job. Unfortunately they aren't doing anything to keep the stores running nicely, so yeah I'm calling that a problem with Gamestop rather than a problem with individual stores.

Re: Gamestop!
Given this is forum about video games and not stores, I'd like to see game discussions. This is Off Topic or "pet peeve" material, really.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to find some game case to put stickers on and then mail it to Dak.

If you're going to hose the thread like that you might as well close it.

Already stopped giving them my money. Doesn't mean I'm going to shut up when people keep pretending everything's ok when the situation isn't.Originally posted by Etra View PostI HAVE A SOLUTION!
Just don't shop there. If you hate it that much, just don't.
God damn.
(And isn't there another thread on this? Do we really need a second one?)

I will admit even my store ever so often might not look 100% You know what though, you go work there and have the rows of games you neatly placed screwed up by kids 5 seconds after you did it, then you have to do it again, for it to only last another minute, and on top of that help the customers, and gut/pickup all the games that are traded in. Then come back to me.

Because I don't guzzle soda. I take my time and enjoy it. So when it sits for a bit and the ice melts, my sodas start to taste like Coke, which is only slightly better tasting than shit itself.

I was pissed when they sold me a broken game - and you really couldn't see the scratch in it that was on the edge - I didn't even notice it until a store which repairs games pointed it out to me. When I called to complain, they said they don't normally accept used games for return, but because of the circumstances they'd give me a full refund.
So I have no major beefs with them. I don't enjoy buying used games and the fact that it generally means that the developer isn't getting jackshit from my purchase, but I also know that trying to get a game for an old system generally means that I have to buy used. I tend to not do it that often. But it did piss me off that one of the few times I did it, I was sold a bum game.
But they don't bother me as much as say, Burger King. Everyone who works at Burger King is an idiot and no matter how many times I say I want a Dr. Pepper with no ice, they always give me ice anyway.

Re: Gamestop!
Yeah I didn't have the receipt, I think that was the problem initially but I was as polite as possible and asked if they could look up the purchase with my debit card. I was kind of upset but trying really hard not to be a total bitch so I think the guy cut me some slack for that reason.
