Oh yes it really is one of the greatest RPG series ever! Especially 1-IV!

It's really hard to choose which one is the best. IV encompassed the combination of gameplay polish, better graphics greater storytelling, combination attacks, custom macros, stellar soundtrack and many improvements, but it can't speak for the legendary PS1, PSII and underrated PSIII which have their own unique qualities, lovable characters and jaw dropping moments!
oh ya and Dark Force > all rpg villains.

PSO also deserves praise for being the first console online RPG (supports keyboard too!)

But ya, it really is one of the best franchises even though nowadays it's kind of, just out there, sort of.

Only played the online ones. Getting Phantasy Star Portable 2 next week, as it has Infrastructure Mode this time out.

Its basically PSU with all the fixes it needed, all the best stuff from Phantasy Star Zero, PSO Blue Burst and no monthly fee.

I plan to get around the to classics on Virtual Console at some point, seeing as VC is the only place I can find all four games. There's not one collection out there that has all four games. Its always the first two, but Sega alternates between PSIII and PSIV after that. Never a complete set.

Also, Dark Falz doesn't have anything particular spectacular about him except he's like Dr. Wily - he'll always be the ultimate bad guy, even if it doesn' t make sense.

The Sega Ages games were never released in the US. Trust me, I still have a bone to pick with Sega for that decision.

The rereleased Quartet under that line of games and they have NEVER rereleased the arcade version in a US collection. >.>

Mew!!!! back then, anime type art had better and more beautiful art styles than it does nowadays!

You know, sometimes I'm grateful I keep my knowledge of anime intentionally limited, only preferring to experience anime storytelling through games and not regularly endure it as an animated medium.

Wake me up when the creators of Cowboy Bebop, Blood+ and GitS do something new.

You aren't doing PS a favor saying it's art style is better than One Piece's.

well its art style (pre-PSO) is way better than any modern anime style!
