PSP gets NeoGeo, PC Engine games? Also, DC comics!

    PSP gets NeoGeo, PC Engine games? Also, DC comics!

    PSP update today added a NeoGeo and PC Engine folder, so I guess Nintendo's full Wii exclusivity is up for games from those systems. I don't know if that means PSN will see games for those platforms tonight, that could be weeks away, but the folders are there now.

    I dunno if this means they'll be playable on PS3 as well, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't be. Then again, I can't imagine why Dreamcast games would only be playable on PS3 and not PSP, well, other than Sega being lazy bastards.

    Additionally, last week DC comics got added and Superman #700 as a freebie - it takes place after the New Krypton story arch so there's not much to get lost on. More or less, Superman returns to Earth and has some splaining to do about why he left. Its actually a rather sad story for its happy cover.

    I highly doubt the PSP has the power to emulate Dreamcast.

    I tried the comic reader on PSP, and it was pretty neat, but I just can't imagine paying very much for them when I can run down to my local used shops and pick up bundles and bundles of comics for cheap. Plus there's my standard complaint with ebook stores; they just don't have even the paltry foreign-language selection you get with a real shop.

        Which explains the PS2 and Dreamcast gamss on it now. Totally sure Seaman would overpower a PSP. If anything, it's only disadvantaged where PSP is always disadvantaged - ports that were made for a system with a second analog stick.

          Anyone with a halfway decent education and an interest in foreign languages can go down to their local bookstore and find something written in French or Spanish they can learn from. If you're lucky, or live in an area with lots of immigrants, you can probably find other languages.

          And yeah, comic books aren't a shitty way to study. They have onomatopoeia that don't show up nearly so much in any other medium, colloquial and simple speech, and context is readily apparent without vocabulary that may be more complex (for example, compare "I was walking down the street" with a picture of a dude walking down the street; one of these is easier to understand). They're basically like TV shows in written form. They've been shown to improve literacy in kids' native language. As long as you're not under the impression that you can read comics until you're fluent, they're a useful resource, the same as target language music, movies, TV, games, books, friends, newspapers, and so on.

            no fair no fair! anything PSP gets, PS3 should get too! Just like downloadable PSOne games can be played on PS3 and PSP.

                And because there are things that PS3 gets that PSP gets, it makes one have a harder time being a unique product that specializes in certain areas.

                Plus I doubt is Sony doing to emulation code this time. Its Hudson/NEC and SNK doing the code most likely, seeing as they created those consoles.
