You have until April 10th to grab the pass, so just find an internet cafe or wi-fi hotspot to download it at.
Just so you know, Victini is a level 15 fight, he likes to spam endure, though so its easy to get him down to that last sliver of health. He still fights every pokeball you toss at him, though, so mash Down A+B a whole lot when you try to catch him.
This has easily been my favorite Pokemon game, too, everything is new and refreshing for the most part. I may still pick up Black to go with White before the end of the month since there are exclusive zones in these versions as well (white forest, black ruins, I think). Well that and I just like this iteration that much.
I did it at University and asked a Japanese friend there to let me borrow a Crown legendary for unlocking Zoroark. I lucked out and got a Victini with a +Sp. Atk trait and high Special Attack IVs on the first try so I'm pretty damn happy there since it will be usable online and Victini's not uber.
It annihilated the first gym at Lv15 without the need for any healing. note that the third gym is made for Lv20+ pokemon.
I do love the new XP system too. Low level pokemon get an XP bonus and you get a free Lucky Egg about a third of the way through the game so there's actually a point in having a full party of 6 ingame now!

I'm pretty sure this doesn't actually do anything.

Didn't know they changed the EXP. I looked at the new formula just now and it's pure win. Not just the bonus EXP for lower leveled Pokemon, the overleveled ones get lower EXP. Also, the new formula gives 40% more EXP pre-level scaling.
Bulbapedia claims there's "critical catches" now too, where the Pokeball makes a different sound and you're almost guaranteed success. Will make catching legendaries more bearable.
By the way, don't buy Great Balls or Ultra Balls, they're much more expensive than they are extra effective.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I heard the Black/White version of Pokesav is out now.
Both black and white came in the mail for my daughter. I have to get Victini for her (for both games) but she has it with her atm and she's with my wife somewhere ...
Oh that said I never really looked at this carefully. Was there a lot of stuff that they put separately into the two versions or was she better off with just 1 game?

I threw every ball I had at that fucker and he kept breaking out until the very last ball. I slept, para and had him at that last sliver for several minutes. He kept getting out, the bastard was like Houdini.
I don't think he was just "OK, this your last pokeball, I surrender," so I think there's something to the Down A+B thing.

Slightly different arrangement of Pokemon, different legendarys (the one on the box), one exclusive area in each version. That's about it as far as I know.
She'll have a good time with one version of the game, so you or whoever else is going to play the other one is free to do so. She's going to want to trade pokemon anyway.
White is more popular due to the legendary looking like a Draconic Evangelion, but Black's legendary will be more useful online due to it's typing being far better offensively.
Only differences I can see so go wild and have fun

He's got the same catch rate as any other legendary - roughly (3/255)% if you bring him down to minimal health. Freeze/Sleep will give you x2 that, other stat ailments will give you x1.5 that, and special Pokeballs will increase that too (my favorite is Dusk Ball, x3.5 catch rate at night or in caves), but it's still going to be small as hell. I'm fairly sure people find this info from hacking the ROM - Bulbapedia went as far as to point out that tapping/holding any buttons doesn't do anything in the Catch Rate article. But hey, trying can't hurt. Sometimes weird stuff just happens. I mean, a friend of mine caught Victini with the first Pokeball he threw, and it was a Premier Ball. Lucky son of a gun.
As far as version differences, I've also been told that you can only access an area called White Forest in White, while there's either an extra city or one of the cities is totally different in Black, can't remember which.
It's probably Ou-sha-wott (I'm basing what I wrote on Japanese/Spanish pronounciation) since the name probably comes from Ocean + Wotter. The only other pronunciation I can imagine is O-sha-wott, because prouncing 'sha' as 'shay' sounds retarded to me.
