PC gamers are more open to digital content but it's just not trickled down to console users. It will take time. All publishers would have to band together and say "Digital Content Onry!" for people to have to accept it nowadays and that's just not going to happen.
Yes Sony did a test called the PSP Go. They thought digital content was more widely accepted but they were wrong, so yes their test was a failure. I don't know why you think that it's such a bad thing to call it a test. The only reason I can come up with is that your fanboyism is showing through. Then I see the next sentence and I'm right. Companies imitate others companies successful plans all the time and all companies have failure, including your beloved Nintendo. You would probably be more respected for some of your well thought out opinions if you would only be more objective.
