There's also the fact that since everything is custom made, as in all the tracks and characters in game are made through the same system players can use to make stuff, everything has to specifically be loaded up. LBP is the same way with slightly longer then average load times (more so the more complex things get) as the whole create a system always results in longer load times. It's really the double edged sword of having complete creative freedom but having to wait a bit more before all those specifically customized objects are loaded up.
