Destructoid - Final Fantasy V and VI have 'technical issues' on DS
SE wouldn't go into details regarding this, but apparently there were plans for FFV and FFVI remakes on the Nintendo DS. It seems plans have been shelved for a later date or, possibly, the Nintendo 3DS.
Supposedly, FFIV actually pushed the DS cart it used to the limits in terms of storage. And considering FFIV was technically shorter and smaller than both FFV and FFV were on the SNES back in the day, that could be a problem if they wanted to expand and add to the games as they did with FFIV.
FFVI's cast is still the largest of the series, too. Just imagine all the actors you'd have to get for FFVI. OK, so Gogo isn't much for talking. Maybe not him.
Oh well, at least they didn't say cities would be hard to produce on it.
