Eh, it's not that uncommon with imported stuff for a company to screw up an order and wind up with two copies; either because some other company sent it first or because they included two. I forget exactly how I got the second copy of Black Mages II, but the first was a birthday gift, so yeah.

Portable devices I would expect to get constant upgrades and new versions because that is the nature of portable devices. They're like swiss army knives. You'll get one, use it and eventually a better one will come along with something new in it - like a USB thumb drive or a light

How many times have you changed phones, replaced an MP3 player or PDA? How many of you have cell phones that don't have a camera, video recording, web browsing and are totally incapable of having games on them?

Anyone?

Same deal with DS and PSP. This 3DS thing is going to have pretty much everything DSi had, backward compatibility to DSi games says they are certainly going to have camera support. I can assume music playback (please not AAC format only this time). Its going to have an accelerometer for motion control play and a Tegra chip, which means a few interesting things to itself.

Nintendo has talked to Netflix about getting movies on the DS, which I can't really comprehend unless its going toward the 3DS as well. And naturally, their viral free app - Flipnote Studio - will be a part of this thing, which will probably make it even more mainstream the next time around since its practically their contribution to the video/social networking world.

All that aside, do you know what the world didn't need? I bigger version of the iTouch. The iPad is the same thing, just many times bigger. Would you carry around a larger version of a Swiss Army Knife if you couldn't keep it in your pocket? No damn point, really. That's why large things are specialized for a function rather than multiple ones.

Actually, replaced my cell phone about four or five times in the past decade, but those were all paid for completely by the plan I would've had anyway. Never had a PDA, and only had one mp3 player.

I mean, complaining about new technology is kinda silly, sure, but even those of us who are perfectly accepting of it don't necessarily enjoy spending money on it. That's more a matter of control, though-- if you're happy with your DS, why get a DSi instead of waiting for Nintendo's completely and obviously inevitable next console?

I've purchased 2 phones in the past 6 years. The MP3 player I bought is from the 1st gen video iPods. I purchased my PDA from Dell 5+ years ago.

Nintendo's not perfect. Releasing a new system with tiny updates that should have been in the first one is annoying. Yes I still buy them and thats why they keep doing it...people still buy them. But it doesn't mean we enjoy it.

I've had 4 phones in the past decade, and all because the previous ones broke (damn that planned obsolesence). Never owned a smartphone or PDA.

I used to be a collector of things as well until I realized what a waste it is. Now I'm trying to sell off as much crap as I can that I have collected over the years. Collecting stuff is just a big waste of money and resources. I'm also a big hippie.

LOL I just traded in my extra crimson/black for credit towards my XL's. Besides the extra XL was supposed to be an Easter gift for my son but since he's being a shit lately I just might let it be for my grandsons when they visit.

me, my 2 brothers and their gf all have a DS lite. That makes 5 DS in my home
We thought about DSi but it's like 3x more expensive than DS lite here.

How many versions of the DS are Nintendo going to make? The next one's going to have a build in toaster or something.

Apparently having multiple models of a particular handheld product line is a winning strategy otherwise Sony would not be copying Nintendo. I believe we're up to 4 different models of PSP.
