Note, I have not played Birth by Sleep and am simply going by what I hear from others. I also don't intend to buy a PSP just to play Birth by Sleep. So some of these ideas are probably incomplete.

I have some musings about Birth by Sleep

- To absolutely nobody's surprise, Terra did somewhat turn out to be the Xehanort we currently know in the series.

- But following that, with Xehanort being Terra's body but inhabited by Master Xehanort's heart, would that mean Xemnas was also Terra's body, but with a mix of Terra and Master Xehanort's soul?

- Xehanort's Heartless was able to possess Riku. That is probably a display of Master Xehanort's power to possess the body of others.

- Ansem was brought to the Realm of Darkness after the events of Kingdom Hearts II where he meets Aqua, who is also trapped there. Ansem seems unable to escape, meaning he has lost the ability to conjure Corridors of Darkness. Does that mean the explosion from his machine rid him of the dark powers in him just as it rid Riku of his?

- The black robes, as revealed in Re:Chain of Memories, is actually a defense against the corrosive power of darkness. Ansem is wearing it in the Realm of Darkness, though Aqua seems unaffected. Aqua is immune to the effects of Darkness?

- Xemnas seemed to be looking for Aqua, referring to her armor as an old friend. I wonder if he believed that her heart was within the armor in the same way that Terra became the Lingering Sentiment. Of course, she's actually alive and well with Ansem in the Realm of Darkness.

- Maleficent is familiar with Terra. I wonder if she saw the resemblance between Terra and Xemnas.

- This is probably based on lack of knowledge of the story, but if Donald and Goofy have met Ventus, why do they not notice the resemblance to Roxas when they see the photo of him after Sora, Donald, and Goofy are brought to the Realm of Darkness by Maleficent?

- The secret ending suggests that Namine, Roxas, Xion, and Axel are all entities that still exist in some form or another.

- A disembodied voice beacons Sora at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts. With many possibilities of who it could possibly be now, I wonder if we'll ever find out.

Game Informer is reporting that S-E is shooting for a summer (June-Aug) release. So yay.

Also, some more character VAs have been reported by IMDB, so take it with a grain of salt. However, because of the VAs and the characters, I am going to spoil it.

More little western release tidbits from belt and zipper man:

Most of the details for the western release are finalized. They are thinking about adding Critical Mode as well as increasing the difficulty of some of the bosses. The ability "Megaflare" is getting weakened. Some event scenes are being changed back to the way they were (whatever that means) and some will be adjusted to make more sense.

Nomura wants to release one more KH game this year (it could just be BbS: Final Mix, depends on how much is changed between JP and western versions). However, it will not be KH3, which might not even make it out by the 10th anniversary. One more "mystery" title has to be released to connect the series.

Kingdom Hearts is Sora's story (and KH3 my the be finale of that, seemed a bit unclear), but there is also another series in development centered around a different character.

I wouldn't mind seeing a critical mode added from the get-go (or at least be unlockable) in our version.

I mean, it does seem that SE is slowly giving western gamers credit for wanting something a little harder if they can get it. They did add Theater modes into the last two stateside releases as well.

But really, what more backstory can there be to cover after BBS to fill out Sora's story? Make a game because Larxene wasn't in BBS? Unless they intentionally put more questions in BBS that require answering. I think he should just leave KH alone after BBS and pretend the cellphone game never existed.

I mean, as much as I like the crossover element, it seems to be more and more apparent that Disney no longer gives a damn about this project, otherwise they'd be coughing up more assets to be used and have produced an animated series or something for it. SE has been left to carry the load, which is why its going the way of a comic book or anime and the Disney stuff has become more of a background element.

Plus the more 3D Disney characters get from their handdrawn state, the creepier they look. Just look at the CG ending of KH2.

Quick summary and this goes without saying SPOILERS

As you know, a side effect of Namine's reattaching Sora's memories caused the events of CoM to go completely poof. Reviewing his Notes, Jiminy comes across a message after "Thank Namine" "We must free them from their torment" So Mickey and Jiminy digitize the journal and create a virtual Sora to carry out the contents of the journal to find out who "them" are. So Sora travels to the worlds of KH1 while eliminating things called "bugs" that have shown up.

Meanwhile, Heartless begin attacking Disney castle trapping everyone in the computer room. Data Sora suddenly busts in and saves everyone. A hooded figure appears telling everyone that its the manifestation of the journal and they are all trapped in it. Malifacent and Pete appear and destroy Data Sora's Keyblade. Aided by Goofy and Donald, Data Sora heads to Hollow bastion and defeat Pete and a controlled journal. To save the journal, Data Sora has to destroy the bugs. Sora travels to the worlds of data Riku and eventually returns to Hollow Bastion and defeats dragon Malifacent. However, Mickey finds out he is going to return to the real world and that once the journal is complete, that data world will have to be erased, destroying Data Sora's memories. Sora requests more time to get Malifacent and Pete out of the data world. He is too late however, as he arrives as Sora's Heartless erases them. Data Sora defeats Sora's heartess and Mickey returns to the real world. The journal is completed and then erased. As this happens, a new message appears saying a door to a new world has opened.

Mickey heads back to the data world, fearing that this would be too hard for Data Sora since he has no memories. Mickey finds data Sora slumped over in Traverse Town and takes him to Castle Oblivion. A new man in a cloak appears telling him that in order to learn the truth, Data Sora will have to travel back through the worlds he rid of bugs (ala CoM style) and destroy them again. As Sora does this, he feels sadness for someone he has forgotten, though he has no memory of knowing this person. The cloaked figure tells him not let this consume him. Data Sora disregards this and fights the figure. Sora wins and the figure turns out to be Roxas. Roxas gives Mickey a card. Sora opens the door and

Namine is on the other side. She tells data Sora and Mickey that the Bugs were a side effect of putting Sora's memories back together. She also reveals that Sora is the "Key that connects everything" through the ties to Her, Roxas, Xion and Axel. She also goes on to tell Mickey and Data Sora there are 3 figures also tied to Sora's Heart that are in need of his help and are the ones she was referring to in her original message. Mickey then says goodbye to Data Sora and tells Namine he will tell the real Sora of her message. This is what was on the message in the bottle at the end of Kingdom Hearts II.

Phew, that was intense information for a cell phone game.

Well, I'm not exactly going to change cell phone contracts and models just to play a game on a cell phone. If they can wise up and drop a cellphone version Agito Final Fantasy XIII for a PSP one, they can do a version of Coded elsewhere.

Isn't the acquisition of the Dark Keyblade covered in BBS? I mean he had it in the first game and also started out with one of light, the Star Seeker he eventually passes on to Sora in KH2 through Yen Sid. As for the Dark Corridors and Dark World, well, those things have already had a big opportunity to be explored and they weren't, really.

I just have a hard time believing that with so much building up that Organization XIII's threat was an interlude.

I mean, unless it somehow revives Master Xehanort somehow. I can't really think that Maleficent and Pete are going to become with lead threat with Xehanort's Heartless and Xemnas out of the way (supposedly, though, through Ventas and Sora and Riku's friendship to Sora, his return could be inevitable).

I suppose it all depends on how BBS ties things together, but I just think they need to stop dabbling with this so much. I'll give Nomura this much - he doesn't leave behind tremendous plot holes like Kitase ritually has done since FFVII, but I'd like to see what other games he has in mind, I don't want KH to become a ball-and-chain, really.

I mean, I think the only reason people are giving the next Castlevania half a hope is that even gamers want to see Kojima unshackled from Metal Gear for once, like he was with Z.O.E and Boktai. The difference is with Nomura, he seems to have a lot of the community outside of KH against him. Its all for petty reasons, butthurt over him taking the place of Amano in Final Fantasy (I think Amano is thankful for that, really). But ever since FFVI, he's had a lot of great ideas and could become the next Sakaguchi of that company.

That is, if they let him. Nomura's most recent game design concept for the PSP - its not even named, just patented - is extremely interesting to me. We've seen spiritual possession in FPS a couple time, but not as an RPG mechanic for skill growth. I'd much rather see what that's about than a KH3. Kingdom Hearts deserves a little rest after BBS.

I don't know about BBS but the Director's Secret Report XIII implies it was obtained during KH1.

Presently there are 4 main untold stories to consider: "the period of the King's absence", "the period of Riku's absence", "Roxas' time in Organization XIII" and "Xehanort's past". In this case, the story of "the period of the King's absence" is set in the realm of darkness. I am examining a way to tell these 4 stories so I might be able to find a way to tell them soon.

Furthermore, about the opened door of the integrated heart of worlds "Kingdom Hearts" itself, to prevent the outflow of the darkness within hearts the intent and reasons were different so the Keyblade was used for a different purpose. In order to work, the door needs to be closed from both the Dark side and the Light side and both a dark and light realm Keyblade are needed. The King needed a Keyblade opposite from the realm of light Keyblade that Sora had, so he went to the realm of darkness to obtain one.

The period of Mickey's absence is KH1, since Mickey is involved in BBS, CoM and KHII. There's also the fact that he appeared out of the dark side of the door.

From the first English trailer, it sounds like Nimoy is Master Xehanort. Guesses are that Hamill is either Eraqus or Terra (my guess).

Seems like Re:Coded and BBS are set to releast to DS and PSP on the same day from what I've been reading. Re:Coded will be using the engine they created for 358/2 days.
