Re: Next Week's Issue of Famitsu PSP+PS3 Features "NEW METAL GEAR"

And where did the other paratroopers go?

I always wondered about that lack of explanation for them. They probably died along the way, but still.

This kind of talk just makes me want a remake of the first two even more.

Speaking of MG 1 and 2 (didn't Kojima sue someone over Snake's Revenge since it wasn't made by him? I remember there being some controversy over it. I know it's not the real MG2) I'm still pissed off that in the Box Set of MGS 1-3, they didn't include the extras discs for MGS 2 or 3.

      Cheap bastards.

1- actually, afaik, Kojima actually liked Snake's Revenge, although it's not canonical.
2- pretty sure MGS2 never had a bonus disk
3- not including disk 2 of subsistence was more a matter of the online mode being dead than being cheap. I disagree with it, but it's an understandable choice.

Re: Next Week's Issue of Famitsu PSP+PS3 Features "NEW METAL GEAR"

Feba is correct, Substance only had one disk. As such, all of features of Substance were in the trilogy pack. The extra disc from Subsistence had an online mode that is presently no longer supported, versions of the MSX games and basically goofy E3 footage, parodies and other stuff you can probably just YouTube now.

The downloadable camouflage was still accessable, last I checked, and was available from disc one anyway. What you should really be complaining about is the fact that the Ape Escape mini-game "Snake Vs. Monkey" was removed entirely and that there really was no reason to do that given it was a natural part of the original MGS3 release.

I'd still like my Metal Gear 1 and 2 though =/ (without having to use an emulator tyvm...)

And I could have sworn you could watch every single CS in the game on the 2nd disc. Regardless of the online mode not being supported anymore, it was still a bitch move on their part.

Man, just found out Kazuma Kaneko did some of the designs for orbital frames and a guest character in Zone of the Enders 2. I might actually have to play it now.

Not touching ZoE, though, that one was shit.

Not at all. I haven't gotten around to ZOE2 yet (and may not for quite awhile, at this rate), but ZOE was just fine. It wasn't mindblowing, but it wasn't crap at all.

ZOE2 is far better. By comparison, ZOE1 is shit.

And by comparison to Galaxy, Super Mario 64 is crap. Still not a bad game.

Glad Feba said it. ZoE is still one of the best mech games ever, even if ZoE 2 eclipses it.

*sigh* now if only FROMSOFTWARE could fix Armored Core...

Armored Core is the Need for Speed of mech games.

I've loved the series from day 1. Master of Arena is still one of if not the best in the series though.

Every since 4 they've taken the customization level to the point of obscenity. You can actually adjust the way your Torso will pivot/rotate and even add special parts and other little thingies... it's gotten completely out retarded.

I love mech customization but I liked it best when they first added tuning. That was enough IMO.

See, I just got back into the idea of Mech games, but I'm not so keen on games that are always all about them unless its in some weird crossover way where I don't have to watch all these stupid animes to care about it.

Basically, I like the way Super Robot Taisen does it. License a bunch of mechs, throw them in the game. For example:

The Magic Box - Super Robot Taisen Gauken Preview (Page 3 of 3)

Why is Voltron here? Don't know, don't care. Just want him unlocked and playable.
