I tend to do the same as Feba, look at it as a $ per hour situation. I figure I'll spend $8 to go see a 2 hour movie so my standard is $4 an hour. Six hour game = no more than $25. If it's more, I usually buy used or wait till the price drops. I know I'm absolutely horrible with my gaming addiction but there are times when actually sanity does take hold. Usually when there are 5 or so just released games that I want and I need to prioritize! LOL

But I mean I do not mind a good looking man so long as I do not have to view his penis.

God I hate my periods. You think passing a clot through a vagina is bad? Try it with a penis.

Yeah, I did this at first, until I realized that cinemas are a total ripoff. Which is why I started looking at them more like books, DVDs (Extra content and such is a big part of them to me, especially commentaries), and movie rentals.
To feel cheated/ripped off from buying a game: While enjoyable as FFX-2 was, it just didn't have a true FF sense to me that makes me want to replay again.
Sonic Shuffle for the Dream Cast, I don't know why, but its play just wasn't enjoyable even when I was winning.
Replay value and story content:
I want it to be a time sink, but a causal one, like 15 hours a week.
Story: Just needs to be memorable and makes me want to play again just to relive the mood.
Replay: Not completely repeative actions to get from C to A to B to C.
Guess my true favorite replay game would be: Tsukihime and Melty Blood. It just focuses so much on plot to progress, and what you do that it just absorbs me when I go in to play. Arcueid & Sion
Also: On the ffxi memories that BBQ posted, I know that feeling when I go to bastok on my hume. The original starting place, that I left behind for San d'Oria. *still has his bastokan ring* And Gustaberg is so nostalgic everytime I go there on foot, walk to see if Lizzy is around.
o yea they're called fsp's GoW Halo Doom CoD ect. I went out and got legendery edition halo 3 if i knew i would clear it in 6/7 hours I would not of got it at all.
Then again FSP's are mainly for multiplayer and I did spend a llot of time doing that.
But the peeved off feeling was still there
It ain't tanking unless you get hit
To those who are about to tank I salute you.
Action/Adventure = ~20 hours
RPG = 40+ without counting extra content
Platformer = 10-20 hours, but with a metric fackton of extras to possibly keep me occupied for much much longer
It's unfortunate a lot of games these days are just going for straight graphics quality and no substance. The only PS3 games I own are DMC4 and Folklore because every other game I am interested in can be beaten in 5-6 hours.
