  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma has introduced me to a new world of pain...

This exact same thing happened to me with Sony's God of War.

Everyone kept going on and on about it.

"You have to play it!" "It's the best game ever!" "It's sooo good!"

For like a year I just said "meh" and never bothered, but then I picked it up and was blown away.

Same story with Ninja Gaiden. I never owned an Xbox, so I never had any means of playing the remake of one of my favourite games on the NES when I was a kid. Everyone kept telling me how hard but how good it was, and how it was the best game on the Xbox. When I had my 360, I for some reason never considered picking up Ninja Gaiden Black.

Enter Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo on the PlayStation Store last night.

Holy buttmuffins, I should have listened to everyone years ago, the game really is fantastic. It took some getting used to as I'm more used to God of War and Devil May Cry (the latter of which is the only action series I've ever played that holds a candle to the difficulty of Ninja Gaiden)

Sure, it's essentially a port (with full 1080p/60fps, self-shadowing, new weapons and abilities, and Rachel as a playable character, but those are just icing on the cake), but yeesh. I'm glad to finally have a chance to play this game.

It really is a great game, but violently frustrating at times. It takes a long time to master the game.

Yay for ninja game that still looks like real ninja.
It's out on xbox? I thought it's coming out on PS3.

Well, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a PS3 game.

I had just never played the original Xbox ones when I owned a 360.

They're essentially the same game though. PS3 version's just another update with next-gen features and some additional content. My guess is Tecmo wants to prep PlayStation fans and are planning on releasing Ninja Gaiden 2 on both platforms, or are using it to test the waters to see what sales would be like before deciding whether or not to go multiplatform.

I downloaded it last night and intend on playing it as soon as I get home from work... unless for some unexpected reason we go fight CoP 8-3 BC which I seriously doubt.

          Edit> 2 things:

First, NGZ rocks, and looks awesome.

Second, I Hate +10 the way Tecmo makes girls, it's like watching barbie plastic dolls and it feels way to fake for my taste.

They should learn a thing or two from SE.
