  • MMO worth reported on the BBC

Ok, the BBC may be behind the times a bit (they admit they don't give gaming its due), but found this report very interesting.

And FFXI is hanging in there as the third most popular MMO atm. Even with a pic making it look very nice!

It looks like they're only counting NA/EU markets. Otherwise, Lineage 1 & 2 would be up there still. I think worldwide we're 5th or 6th, which still isn't bad considering it seems like there's a new MMO hatched every week.

Yeah, they stated they were only looking at NA and EU markets.

              But still pretty interesting.

Re: MMO worth reported on the BBC

XI's player base doesn't seem like it has changed a lot so I wouldn't be surprised if there were still around 500k accounts (or maybe a little less).

However I'm more than ready to move on to the next SE MMOG, specially if it comes out for the PS3.

Single player games just aren't that fun anymore.

lol, why do I feel that this will serve as advertisement of people from WoW thinking about switching to FFXI?

That picture owns the other in terms of looking nice or cool.

I would have thought Everquest II would have beaten FFXI.

And for someone who asked, WoW costs $15USD a month.
