So on to the backwards compatability games...

FF7-10 work perfectly fine. played 1-2 hours of all of them.
Metal Gear Solid works perfectly fine.

shal we do older games...??
Star Wars MoTK works seamlessly.

most of all...FFXI runs perfectly on my PS3 just got it loaded around 5am this morning.

No, they included a secret graphics engine upgrade on the PS3's HDD.

I heard the game will run just like on PS2. It's basicly emulating PS2, that's all.

I thought the word was that FFXI would not be playable on the PS3. So do you just install it from the PS2 discs and it actually runs? I wonder if the extra processing power would help prevent some of the lag PS2 players experience.

Yeah, that's what it should be doing. There might be slight graphical improvements but nothing like changed Draw Distance, Higher Resolution, or other such things.

No, the word was that the PS3 can play FFXI. The compatibility issues the PS3 had was with mostly Online games, but if that's fixed then the PS3 should be very close to 100% compatible. If there is an improvement I could see it being in that the load screen times are reduced.

When it first came out, the PS3 had specific issues with PlayOnline, I remember hearing that much. Glad to see it's worked out the kinks.

Now, does anyone have HDLoader? It'll be interesting to see if THAT works

I'm surprised we haven't seen a handful of "PS3 Setup" threads like we did when Xbox 360 came out. I guess people are being shy about showing off their new toy all of a sudden. I tried to find a few else where and came up empty.

Side Note: WishMaster, update your blog man! I need something to read this weekend since I won't be playing FFXI!

LoL!!! Thanks for caring, TDH. I haven't been doing jack-squat in life tho, but I guess I can go rant about something.

Preferably something related to Xbox-fans or something similar.

And the PS3 is fairly straight-forward, it seems that Sony did their research. Oh god, the Sony Style at my mall... Had a PS3 hooked up to their 60inch TV.

My God, I friggin cried. Resistance is such a fantastic game.
