I found this very interesting, and rather sad. I can understand how hectic E3 can be, and this would probably a good economic choice, but I always loved the big just mindblowing amount of information that came out of E3.

I read about it in Gamespy (although now I kinda hate that site because of how biased they are towards WoW
)
It seems like E3's power has fallen (dramastically? thanks to that pet peeves thread for teaching me that word) drastically in the last few years.
There was a time when you would get tons of great and exclusive info and videos out of E3, but lately most companies do their anouncements somewhere else like Eohmer pointed out.

I don't miss it. I think people who do are ones who can afford to go or have a popular enough website to get press passes.
It's really a drain on developer resources, with stories that it takes like a month out of the development team on a demo for E3 which would be all but thrown away later.
