Well, I just got this game(new, and for only $16!) but... Well I don't really understand the controlls. The manual gives me a list, but none of the characters do anything I say, but the controller is working >.> And how do I switch charactersmid-battle(is that possible)?

Re: Tales on Symphonia
You should be able to control the main character if you're playing alone. The only thing I can think of is on the screen where you set up their skills, you may have put the main character on Auto, causing him to be controlled by the AI. As for controlling the others, I don't know about switching between them "on the fly", but you can give them a command. However, because of AI, they sometimes don't do what you want right away. Like, if you tell a spell caster to use Thunder, he may run far away first, so that he doesn't get interrupted, but he should still cast it. I haven't played that game for a few months so I'm not too sure about the controls lol.....great game though.

With great power comes complete disregard for any and all responsibility.

Re: Tales on Symphonia
Ok, I have most of the battle system worked out. Now I'm just stuck on that room where the Sorcerer's Ring shoots thunder balls... can't stun the robots fast enough.

Re: Tales on Symphonia
Wait, I'm not sure I remember this part, but when they touch you, can't you just wipe them out of existance through battle?
Yes, it's difficult to aim the damn rings...you'll get used to it me thinks, lol.

Re: Tales on Symphonia
In the room he's talking about you have to stun them when they're over each of the two switches to activate them to open the door.
