To be honest, after having to re-do it for a second time, I stopped being angry. The side-quests are kind of cool if you like seeing how things would be in different situations, or if the bad guys had a less obviously evil personality.

I'll admit I'm doing them because some of them are revealing more of the story, as well as some of their stealable items. Some of the bosses that were a pain in the ass earlier in the game (like Rusalka or Orthros) are distressingly easy when you have 4 Fire/Ice immunity shields...

I like achievements in games, in WoW I actively hunt them, but I have long accepted that any that require me to join an elite raid guild are unattainable to me.

What's fun is going back and getting old achievements from past expansions. I've done a shitload from Wrath now, quite a lot of them are easily soloable with the level cap raise.

Achievements are just something that people enjoy doing. It's a fun extra aspect that gives you a different perspective from which to play. Keeps the game interesting. Some of them are very frustrating, but that's when I switch gears and come back to it later.

I tend to just ignore them now and play the game how I like to play it, and if the devs decide to arbitrarily award a badge for it then that's cool. If I'm honest I only really chase achievements that give an ingame reward.

That said multiplayer achievements need to die right now. Just no, no, no, no, no, no! Bad dev! Stop ruining my online experience by creating toxic environments where people only want to go for the achievements rather than playing the fucking game. It's at the point where if I pick up a game that even has multiplayer achievements, I'm very wary of going online with it at all.

Why do you give a shit? I like the challenge and it adds extra value to the games for me/bragging rights. Some are more heinous - if not outright impossible - than others, but again what's it to you?

It seems to bring you nothing but grief and ruin otherwise good games by wasting your time. I just don't understand why you'd embrace such a poorly designed feature that disrespects you and your time.

Well, at least it didn't cost me anything - used gift money I got from X-mas and I'm not sorry I bought it, just wish it'd been a little longer. I demand a PS4 sequel with adult Ellie!

Besides FFXIV I'm playing Bravely Default.

Taking back a lot of the good sentiments I had about the game. The last portions of the game forces you to redo previous portions of the game numerous times.

When he lands a job that demands 40+ hours of mental and/or physical energy a week. Then, getting achievement become "Oh hey I didn't know about that! That's great. That's awes....*yawn* some *yawn* OMG it's not even 9:30 and I can't keep my eyes open anymore!"

Beat Lost Odyssey.

The ending was OK, but the story really did get retarded/needlessly convoluted ala FF8 (worse in some ways really) towards the end. Of course I stupidly saved my completed game over my main file, which automatically puts you into NG+... all that diligent treasure hunting for nothing. BAH!

Can't get all the achievements anyway because Mistwalker was retarded (or maybe it was MS' fault idk) and made 1 of the items needed for the all skills achievement only accessible on either the JP market place or with a pre-order promo code for US & Australia.

I mean REALLY?! WTF... still, would have liked to have finished off some of the achievements I had going and done the temple of enlightenment. F redoing everything all over though, not happening. Overall I give Lost Odyssey a 7.5/10 as it starts strong but finishes extremely weak.

On to The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC!
