I believe that another Syria could happen, in the US.
When they first started covering the Occupy movement, they started cracking down on them, and forcing them to move out. Instead of just going out there, and listening to them, what did they do? They ignored them, and ATTACKED them. That right there is already causing more tension than there is needed. The Government it self is going to cause an up-rise some time soon. They are going to force it.
Hell, I used to be blind and think the president was in charge but no, there's people behind him pulling the strings.
and no its not republicans Dak... Its politicians. All of them are corrupt, they lie through their teeth, and then turn around and harm the united states, the people that live here.
Make the rich live as normal people, and see how fast things change....

Re: It's another government abuse thread. No wait, it's a technological marvel thread
It's the reality we live in. There are a lot of industrialized countries out there willing to kill their own people just to shut them up. It could just as easily happen in America.

Another Syria? That's pretty tinfoil hat don't you think?
Police brutality is one thing, it's another story entirely for the military to crack down with that level of force on civilians.

If you're that pissed off, vote with your feet.
1- You instantly get that nicer life you want
2- Unless you're insanely rich (like, part of the problem rich), you don't generally have to pay American taxes, thus starving the monster you hate so much
3- In another country, you can improve goodwill towards America by not being an asshole.
3b- You can also lead foreigners to petition their government to tell America to shove it
4- See the world
5- See the women
6- See the women naked
EDIT: Also, humans trying to kill each other is such a great economic and technological driver that we really shouldn't complain too much.
I mean fuck, the only other force that drives industry for such an insane and pointless waste of human life is video games.

While yes, its hard to get anything started, all that you need is a few people. If they are good enough to be trusted/helpful, they will go to their friends, and their friends would go to theirs, and so on and so forth. Don't put anything on the net, all written by hand, and burned once read by the ones that need it.
Its hard to get hands on weapons, and I do not like killing one bit, but the government is blood thirsty, and its terrible. It needs to end. As simple as that. while yes, I agree the government does protect us, but they don't tell us what needs to be told. The media is government controlled, and does what they say. With facebook, and social networking sites, its easier to gather people, but easier for the government to end it as quickly as it starts.
But, if there are people who start standing up, and people know about them, but they keep vanishing, others will start to see (If they aren't completly blind sheep by now.), that something is amiss, and rather just sit there and do nothing, they would research it, calling it attention to others. And, what would the government do? Wipe out everyone that knows about it? They can't, other wise people will keep going on and on about it, and something will happen.
While I my self am unable to do anything right now, I can form ideas, and write them down until I figure out what to do. If I can get my friends the information, and have them share it and so on, that could help people start to open their eyes.

They should be harder to strictly regulate by their nature, and should work as well for what they're needed for. If you want to go and martyr yourself to prove a point, that's another matter, but given the way things are now, unlikely to be effective. First of all, if you identify yourself as an imminent threat, the government can take you out quietly in the night. Eric Holder as much as said so. So the plan's not likely to get off the ground now that you've mentioned it in public. Secondly, even if you pulled it off, the media would tear you to shreds and any message you intend would be destroyed. You'd be labeled a terrorist; your ideologies, if they were even discussed, would be distorted and new ideologies would be invented and attributed to you. They'd spin you into non-existence without government coercion because that is what our media does. Even if they weren't entirely successful in doing so, our culture right now is ill-inclined to consider the political viewpoints of armed criminals. It's where we are right now.
Anger is useful but rash action isn't. I know I'm probably taking your post much more seriously than needs be, but seriously, keep your head down, keep learning and thinking, and look for opportunities to make a difference.

Oh, and murder is bad, mmkay? That should go without saying, but in rereading my post it seemed more like a glaring omission. Just throwing that out there. Killing bad.

Re: It's another government abuse thread. No wait, it's a technological marvel thread
You think I care? I'm tired of being held down by the government, calling everyone "free", and they all have a "choice", when they just present you with two things that are similar, yet different enough to seem to be two different choices.
They just want to control us, and everyone else. Well, know what? I am fucking sick and tired of it. Tired of the media trying to brain wash us, and make us feel like we are free when we really aren't.
The rich hold the reigns, along with the government. The poor get poorer, and the rich get richer, while the middle class is going broke too.
The US government has fucked us one too many time in our asses, and I'm fucking sick and tired of it.
We NEED a revolution, and NOW! Stop complaining about shit, and fight. Fight for what we believe in, stop sitting around, and being lazy. Fight for our rights, and our freedom. Fight for what we need! Reform the government, and reform those in ALL offices. Destroy the buildings, and destroy the shit they feed us.
Rebuild, and start over again, but never forget the past.
The US government has made the people lazy, and fear them.
The government should fear its people, and respect them, NOT the other way around. We should be able to trust and respect our government, while they can trust us, yet they fear us.
Edit: Damn... Sorry, I kinda blacked out when I wrote that... I didn't mean to yell at some one, just needed to get it out of my system. XDLast edited by Takelli; 03-22-2012, 09:01 AM.

Annnnnnnd that's the sort of craziness they're trying to deal with.Originally posted by Takelli View PostThis makes me quite depressed knowing the government is doing even more stuff like this.
If it was killed in 2003, yet they continued it...
Tired of being told I live free, yet I don't live free at all.
It's time to start taking out officials.
