  • Japan creates edible steak from human feces

    I wish I was kidding...

I heard it on Bill Maher in his opening monologue tonight, and googled it... and sure enough, it's true.

Not gonna provide any links for obvious reasons, just wanted to share this/warn the world

    Google at your own risk.

Just go the Soylent Green route.

Don't tell people what they're eating.

Edit: Here's a link, it's nothing to be scared of -.-

It's apparently being made in an attempt to cure world hunger. Hell, if it tastes like a burger is really cheap and they don't state that i'm eating poo, I wouldn't mind having one.

If it looks smells tastes and feels like a burger, i'm going to assume it's a burger.

Honestly, Asia's been great at making tofu and shit taste like meat for generations; If they can't get that to catch on, they're not going to replace the factory farm system that's eating up all of our crops.

I would NEVER touch this. I would much rather have tofu (Even though everyone I have talked to says its horrible, never had it my self, but I want to try it.), over this stuff.

Question is, would vegetarians who don't eat meat because it hurt the little piggies eat this?

Slogan: "No animals were harmed in the making of this steak."

I would try it, if it tastes the same or better than the... er, original?... meat, I don't see a problem.

Vegetarians who don't eat meat for animal cruelty reasons, why the hell not?

That's only a subset of vegetarians; there's many, many more types which are probably even more common, but they don't have PETA's publicity.

Just the idea of eating human waste just disgusts me. I don't think I would ever want to try it.

Animal waste is ok though right?

There's all kinds of stuff in our food. The FDA actually has limits to how many pieces of bugs can be in our food, else we'd be eating even more bugs.

That's just recycling food, I'm not surprised and I'd try some.

For it to ever be marketed successfully though it would have to be really cheap

I know that, but food is not MADE from it.
