    Simple?

    In a kid's show?!

    :O

I'll grant that the episode has something of a blind spot in a situation where, say, someone becomes the victim of prejudice, and the nearest authority figure also happens to be prejudiced. But that's something we as a society have to work to prevent, in addition to simple bullying.

Plus, it's not like bullying never happens because the bully has a few issues of their own. I'd argue that would be a more frequent cause of bullying than just sheer malice, even, so I think that the episode had most of its bases covered.

My point is, telling kids that bullies are only like that because they are bullied and authority figures can always put things right is painting things as too simple. Saying "If you do X the bullying will magically and arbitrarily stop" isn't a great message to be sending outwhere there is a plethora of different things as to why someone is being such a dick to you.

However I do concede that the above probably wouldn't fly with the network execs as a lesson to learn in a kid's TV show. That said Star Wars The Clone Wars does get into some pretty deep and grey vs grey moral issues for a kid's TV show, especially in seasons 3-5.

Haha, I barely follow this thread anymore but I'm so glad I happened upon that post.

They saw their bullying wrong long before the episode ended. And soon after that, Babs Seed they ended up having befriended.

Or is it so "horrible" it takes you aback, to hear that they should have gone and told Applejack?

Regarding the story of morals perverse, "A Dog and Pony Show" was far, far, far worse.

The one thing that bugs me about the new CMC episode

Well other than the completely horrible message it sends to kids about dealing with bullies of course.

Well that hack has the items list in an XML file and there are more then enough XMLs going around to let you simply convert all cossts to bits you you can still play the game with the challenge without having to worry about farming hearts and getting gems.

I've done those. They just take time. Right now I'm looking at two quests I literally cannot complete without putting money in or spamming facebook. Well, that or hacking the store for Scootaloo. So I can't possibly get any quests that are more annoying because I'll never complete these.

Oh wait until you get quests that are things like "Get X Ponies to Lv3" or "Play X minigame with Y Pony Z times" or even "Clear the clouds with X Pony Y times"

Just got a quest in the iOS game where Spike says "I'm hungry. Wish I had 10 gems to eat." or in other words "Feed me a dollar." Screw you little dragon, and screw you game. Only reason I'm still playing at this point is my daughter really wants Fluttershy, and I can get her without paying money, irritating people on a social network, or hacking the game.

Doesn't beat The Show Stoppers, but a good CMC episode regardless.

Also, Spanish in Equestria is now canon.

    Also, this. HNNNG-

I thought the "should've talked to Applejack" thing was a bit of a cop-out. I felt the better moral was that people aren't just good or bad, but they do the things they do for a reason, and you should try to understand those reasons rather than reacting to what's on the surface. That's a bit heavy for what is, after all, primarily a kids' show, so "If you're in over your head, get help from an adult," will do. Just goes to show you can appreciate the show on multiple levels.

Eh, I'll agree to that, but it's not like she has fierce competition. She does kindof need her own episode, though, much as I hate to say it. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle each got one, and already had some characterization due to being related to one of the Mane 6. Scootaloo hasn't been fleshed out much by comparison.
