It is a deliberate separation between blacks and whites, created by the blacks. And then they complain about how we're not equal. Well, no shit.

My perspective: most of "black culture" is, itself, a counter-culture*. Very understandable, considering the history of their treatment. I'm not attacking the formation of such a culture. The problem lies in that, as we try to adapt equal rights, black culture says "it's my right to keep my culture". Which is still defined as counter-white-culture. So whites adopt their open arms policy while many blacks maintain their own segregation.

As usual for these sorts of threads, I feel compelled to apologize if I accidentally used racially sensitive wording or gave the appearance of prejudice.

*If you're interested, dictionary.com's basic definition of counter-culture: "the culture and lifestyle of those people [...] who reject or oppose the dominant values and behavior of society." I.e. the whole point is to oppose and be different from the dominant white culture of the era.
