  • Any wordpad/notepad wiwth black background?

    ya white background hurts my eyes and I can't type of up lists and stuff I would like to write about for long periods.

    I only have notepad and wordpad, is there anything free out there that lets me write up text documents using black screen with white text?

    looking kind of like this: (no graphics, just referring to black background.)

    Like this? Dark Room | they.misled.us

    Has a black background with green text. Tried it out on Windows 7 and it seems to work.

    You might also want to try turning your monitor brightness down. On my old laptop, if I was editing pictures I turned the brightness up, but if I was coding or something I turned it down. That white does annoy eyes at times.

        Copy and Paste, yes. Unlike notepad though it can't save as "all files", it can only save as .txt

            I think textpad lets you change background color as well.

                  ya but it requires another version with some serial code it says. anyways I found control panel has a config for what I want notepad to look. the only thing is that it affects my web browsing too (white text not visible on certain windows)

                    Why you would use any other text editor is beyond me.

                          Thanks! notepad++ works great!!! ^-^

                          the numbers on the left are strange though >.>

                          But I guess its kind of like a ruler. I can copy and paste notepad ++ writing to regular notepad.exe as backup copies just fine. ^-^

                          I wonder what are the best universal text file formats.

                            I'm slightly addicted to Scite but changing its colours requires editing text config files.

                            I thought the best universal text format was 8-bit ASCII?

                              FYI - File format and code pages are not the same thing.
