For years I would always get the least complicated or feature filled cell phones. It was a cell phone, I only wanted it to make calls. It can play MP3's? No thanks, if I want that I will get an MP3 player. Didn't want another reason for short battery life. It can take photos? I have a camera that can take better pictures and it saves them digitally too. It can do texting? Fuck texting.

Then along comes iPhone. Sure, I wasn't an early adopter. Only after a couple of coworkers had their phones for about 6 months did I ever consider it. Even then I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of it. I had to compare the monthly cost as well. I have had my iPhone now for 6 months and I have to say I love the convenience of internet in my pocket. I still do very little texting, picture taking, and rarely ever have reason to listen to MP3's, but this damn thing is pretty awesome. I love the apps, and the internet browsing the most.

Ok not sure how this post turned into an iPhone love fest, but what I wanted to say was "I am not an Applee". I have only owned one apple device, and hopefully I won't have any hardware problems with it. But damn is it nice. A very good product that I would recommend to most people. Everything is situational after all.

I think an iPad would be nice, but I have a couple of laptops already. Would be nice to surf on a larger screen and in the days before FFXI when I was in fron of the T.V. more than the computer the iPad would probably have fit better into my lifestyle. Is couch potato a lifestyle?

I personally don't like the new touch based devices because of no hardware keyboard. I'm not exactly keen on smartphones, I feel I don't need one, but if I were to get one, I would get a LG Eve because of the sliding hardware keyboard along with the same functionality of the iphone (minus the app store, but I think Android is on the Eve?). Whatever the case is, my phone is for phone calls and texting, nothing more.

And as far as tablet/slate PCs, I would drop 2 grand on a Fujitsu ST 6012. Best slate on the market, imo. But once again... no need.

I will hand it to Apple, they make user friendly products which are not cost prohibitive to the consumer.

Why? What was the most common reason why they were brought back?

It's been a while, but screens would stop responding, the software would do something wonky sometimes after an update, or it would completely stop recognizing itunes no matter what trouble shooting people tried. Small things that were frustrating for some people, especially those who received these products as gifts and were not really technological type of people.

We sold apple computers too and they sold very well and we didn't have much problems with those at all, it's the small portable things that are tricky.

Also I want to add apple has a very awesome support policy, if your ipod breaks within the first 6 months you can send it in and they will fix it for no charge except shipping. You send it to them and they send it back all fixed. After the first 6 months and within the first year they will still fix it with a charge. And I think if it breaks or stops working in the first 3 months you ship it in and they'll send you a new one. Now that was some years ago so their policy may have changed and I may not remember 100% correctly either, but I do remember loving to deal with Apple. lol

No, they aren't. Saying "I've never owned one of their products, but... I'VE SEEN THEM ON YOUTUBE." is not a defense of hating a company. Saying "Apple products are shit because their customers are annoying because I don't like their marketing" is just plain stupid.

I don't just get my info off youtube, good god I am not a moron........ I know many people I work with, and or know, who have them and I find them to be nothing but over priced crap.

I have messed with them, and used them, but never owned one. from my experience in using Macs, Ipods, and the few times I have messed with an Iphone, I can say that they are no different from buying the much cheaper product, and get the same functions from it.

Well, between the 3 of us in this house, we've owned 7 different iPods and never had an issue with any of them. My first gen video iPod is still going strong and so is my nano. My mini, I don't even remember where in the hell I put it.... lol

Apple products are shit because they're either built from shit or assembled by shitty people. I bought an early Nano, the one with the stand for charging, and the third time I removed it the metal jack came off with it. Never got it out. Shame, too, because it was the only one I had with a decent battery life. I've own multiple others, and they never last more than an hour before they die.

Plus, their commercials are really douchey.

I've owned many MP3 players in my day. I jump on board the electronics train whenever it rolls into town, trust me. lol I had a first gen Rio...when it worked. lol I didn't want anything to do with iPods when they were announced. I sounded like Kailea in arguments with my son. He jumped on the bandwagon first and after playing around with it so did I. At first I owned a mini, then a nano, and finally a video iPod. Why so many? Didn't have any issues with them..I'm just a junkie and want to play with all the toys! I'm sure down the road a newer better MP3 player will hit the shelves but after years of different players, the iPod is the best MP3 player I've ever used.

Basically the same story with cellphones too. I jumped on the bandwagon when you had to carry a god damn SUITCASE around in order to use a cellphone. lol You paid through the bloody nose for the service too! Through the years I've tried all kinds of phones, in all shapes and sizes, and with plenty of features....especially internet access. Touch screen was the way to go for me. I mean you don't watch all those sci-fi movies and oooo and aaaah because you think it would suck, do you? Nope! So when it came out, I jumped on the bandwagon. I eventually graduated to the iPhone after using several other peoples. The difference is tremendous...and addicting! I used to have PDA's and all that jazz but now its just my iPhone because it pretty much does it all.

My Macbook Pro is fine. Been into computing since the dawn and I still remember the big ass huge clunky laptop I bought when they first came out. (Maybe carrying that thing around is what aggravated my back problems!! lol) I love my Macbook, don't get me wrong but I will say it is not worth the money I spent on it. I got caught up in the Apple movement with their other 2 great products I purchased. It's not that much better than any other laptop I've bought so I really don't think I'd do it again. It's nice but...

As for my iPad, I am in love. Wouldn't trade it for the world and all the bad shit people have to say don't mean a thing to me. For me, its a huge iPhone with an ebook reader. So simple to use, so intuitive, and so nice to not have a big clunky laptop laying around in the living room anymore.

As for the ebook aspect of it, I've had a Sony ebook and I loved it. But the iPad FAR outshines my ebook for ease of use AND having backlighting. I read my newspapers with it and see ads, pictures, and everything. If there is a url in an ad, just click it and it opens up in a new page. It's the way a digital newspaper should be read, with a swipe or a tap and you are off. Zooming in, zooming out, copying, pasting, etc. is all just so damn easy and convenient. I don't regret my decision to get one at all. And I WAS sweating this one too because with all my other products I let someone else buy them and then I got to test them out. This one I pre-ordered AND PRAYED! lol

I don't think I'd want to play UNO on the same device. Too much chance for cheating. I do like the feature that it could play with other iPod Touch or iPhones though.

All things considered, I'd probably still rather just get an iPod Touch. Well, if I could take Apple products seriously for gaming, that is. Apple still has a looooong way to go in that regard. Some of the Apps can be fun, but until these things sprout a D-Pad and some buttons its a hard sell for most types of gaming I enjoy.

the products "suck" in the fact that they are nothing more then the same tech as PCs use, just dolled up, and overcharged a good x2 or x3 the price. Then to top it off, you have the stuck up snobbish commercials that Apple makes, and the people that act the same way for using Apple stuff.
