We Feel Fine / by Jonathan Harris and Sep Kamvar

Known about this site for a while, but never shared it. It's a site that scans blog and journal sites for the words "I feel" posted in the last few hours and records the sentence that follows. You can filter by age, gender, location, even local weather, so if for instance you wanted to see how guys your age are feeling right now across the world you can set the filters, see the statistics and get these little snippets of life. Reading the murmurs makes me feel a little more like I have kin in world.

Interestingly, if you go to the mobs or mounds view there are some things that never change over time or demographic. "Good" is only the 3rd most common feeling, outstripped by a significant margin by "bad" which stays at 2nd, but by far the most common feeling expressed in blogs is "better." I guess that says something about us as humans.

Oh, a note. The site doesn't filter for content, so occasionally you'll pick up someone blogging about what they felt during a sexual experience or the like. XD So maybe better to browse when your boss and your children aren't around.

It says more about what we express (not to mention, the blogosphere, which has different expression than real life) than what we experience.
