help with ringtones

OK, I got a new cell phone (I'm with Verizon, so sadly, no iPhone) and I just want to be able to make my own damned ringtone. All the apps I've tried for this function are retarded and I ain't paying any more to try some (bad enough I DLed Mega Man III, what a waste).

Is it possible just to email one to my phone? If so, what file format do I need to do?

Model is a SCH-u430 if that helps any.

I pretty much hate cell phones, but I have to carry one, so any help is appreciated.

I know back when I had a razr, if you had the clip of music on the internet, you could text the link to yourself and save it to the phone or SIM card. From there you could just save it as a ringtone.

On a sidenote and if anyone knows the answer just pm me to not clog up BBQ's thread: I can't make ringtones for my iphone anymore. The song is bought and paid for but when I right-click it and select create ringtone, its says I can nolonger make a ringtone with that song. Its done it on a few different songs now.

For Verizon you need a card, and a USB card reader. The clip has to be 30 seconds or less I believe, and in MP3 or WAV format. Just put the clip on the card, the card in the phone, and you should be able to set it as a ringtone.

All other programs are useless. I think I've tried everything else already.
