Looking for a new tv....

Ok.......so.......I got my 37" version of this tv today that is also going to double as my computer monitor. JESUS.......I think I went a bit too big. >< I feel like I should be sitting across the damn room in order to play FFXI. And the dunes on this monitor is like having hot coals burning my retinas. I had a 28" previously and that was frickin awesome (now hubby has it). But this......this is too damn big. Learn from my mistake people. /sigh

Do you have space behind you TGM? The best you could do is hang the display on the wall and move your desk a bit further from the wall (maybe 1ft) so you could get the most distance without burning too much space. But yeah, kinda too big for what you are going to use it.

That's why I went 32" with mine.

Do NOT get one this big. >< As for the notes, one has a list of things I'm saving up for in FFXI (Gobbie Bag Quest items) and the other has all my drk equips. I rarely get to play my drk so when I finally do I want to make sure I get all my equips out. They are scattered between the safe, locker and delivery box.

There is a little path behind my chair and then there is my bed. So I can't move the desk out unfortunately. I could play while I was on the bed but I've tried that before and I always fall asleep at events then.

Yes I am very impressed with the Sharp Aquos line of tv's. I loved my Sony but this tv is a step above.

Not for my computer per say (at least not my main one), but here's the TV I'm looking into getting with some of the money I made/saved during deployment.

My previous tv was a Sony Bravia. It was a good tv, not great but good. Ran a bit dark and ended up having issues after 2 years. My son and mother bought one too and theirs had the same issues. My husband uses it now for his monitor/tv but it won't do anything but 480. Pisses me off cause it shouldn't be fucked up after 2 years.

Aquos are really good and very cheap compared to other displays (Sony included).

I only bought mine because it was cheap (32" 720p/1360x768), while 1080p displays became cheaper and better. But I'll probably buy another Aquos when it's time to upgrade instead of a Sony like I was planning to do in the begining.

Really? First time I saw a Bravia I had to change my underpants. Aquos are that much better? Not complaining, they're much cheaper than a Bravia, though another big screen tv isn't something I really need right now.

There was a great deal online at Amazon on the Sony's a couple years ago. I believe it as a Black Friday deal. I told my mom about it and she wanted one and then my son and I decided to get one too. Maybe we got a bad batch? lol I don't know but my mothers went tits up about a year and a half in so she bought a Samsung. (She went to the store with my sister who knows nothing about tech and the display is shit. ><) Then about 8 months later my tv had a major issue. We opened it up and tinkered with it but now it only displays in 480. My husband uses it for his monitor because he doesn't care. Then about 2 months later my son's went. It was funny cause I said to him "You're next!" and after his went he got really mad at me....like I cursed him or something. LOL I LOVED my Bravia but when we needed a new tv in the living room, the Aquos was cheaper and had a better picture. Then after my monitor went, I loved my Aquos so much that I went with it again. (My son bought a 37" too. We got them 1/2 off.)

Bravia are also quite nice, but are still 2nd to the Aquos.


Really my only complaint about the damn things is the lack of Picture in Picture.
