        This little oddity is from home, but just about everyone from Texas does it. Whenever we're fixin' to go somewhere, everywhere we go is "up" from where we are.

        "I'm goin' up to Dallas."
        "I'm goin' up to the store. Yall want anythin'?"
        "I'm goin' up to so-and-so's place."

        Goes with the whole "everything is bigger in Texas" thing, which, btw, is true.
