Conversely, they also made some of the worst ones. Star Trek V could possibly be the worst movie ever, though it has some contenders in its ranks. Even the last two Next Gen Treks were'nt as bad as that one and far from the worst movies ever.

I love the original series, I think Next Generation just expanded the universe incredibly well with a cast to match the original in how likeable the characters were. It wasn't as gung-ho as the original series, but they took their own risks expanding the universe.

DS9 I watched from near the beginning and it was a different beast, but the cast was solid there, too, partically because they built on and re-used some of the Next Gen cast and characters from TNG episodes.

Voyager was OK, but suffered good character development, sometimes veering too hard in favor of The Doctor, Janeway or Seven of Nine. The rest of the cast felt like afterthoughts at times. The Borg encounters - which DS9 lacked entirely (and were rather signifigant in shaping Sisko's history) - added a bit of interest, but more original, recurring enemies would have been welcome.

Enterprise had a good cast and character development... it was just pushing it. It was best to just let the Original Series be the first crew and leave it at that, I would have rather they picked up in the TNG time period or deeper into the future of the universe than dabble too much with the past.

Plus the Away teams wearing baseball caps was fucking stupid. T'Pol was a hottie, though.

If I had seen DS9 from the beginning I might've enjoyed it, but every episode I see is just meaningless drama after meaningless drama to me.
The continually evolving storyline is what made DS9 my fave, followed by TNG. Both were very good though.

Off-topic: I also think Babylon 5 is better than DS9.

V was no where near as bad as "The Motion Picture." The TNG movies were for the most part meh.

V is no where near the worst movie ever, that is generally given to "Plan 9 from Outer Space."

DS9 is by far my favorite for the evolving storyline and really engaging characters. I actually liked that you had to watch it to really get the story in some of the episodes, it allowed the show to really develop the characters well.

TNG is probably my second favorite, they had a good mix of different aliens, borg, plot/storyline and good cast. TNG had a nice mix of developing the story and keeping the story more on a per episode basis.

          /sip Earl Grey, COLD!

TOS is roughly tied with TNG. It's good, damn good, but my likes come more with the basic philosophy differences between TNG and TOS.

          TOS:
Spock: It's life, but not as we know it.
Kirk: Set phasers on kill and shoot! Sulu, fire a full phaser/torpedo spread down onto these planetary coordinates!

          TNG:
Dianna: It's life, but not as we know it.
*Enterprise is being shaken like a leaf in the wind, bridge crew thrown around*
          Picard: What do you sense?
          Dianna: ..... I think I sense hostility.....

So yeah... TNG had it's cheese but I am still amused by TOS's shoot first and ask questions later approach.

Also, still surprised that those women didn't learn to avoid Kirk like the plague, or the Cartwright boys

Voyager was interesting, but I felt they overplayed the Borg far too much, especially towards the end. Then when they had something that could have been developed into something really interesting (hunter aliens, species 8472whatever) they didn't really seem to do much with them. Voyager is just ok in my book, loved the Doctor though.

And Enterprise..... Would have been better if they hadn't overplayed the time travel aspect. It seemed like there was some funky time travel thing going on every other episode.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

TNG ftw, DS9 next, Original series was nice, but I havent seen too many. Series started to lose me at Voyager and I was done by the time Enterprise was on the air.

Edit: series started to lose me at DS9 actually, once the original Dax left the show.

Jainway setting self distruct. Opps gave away the plot for the 1st handful of Voyager episodes.

For a second I thought you were talking about the V miniseries from back in the early 80s..

But yea.. ST-V was kinda bad, but it's wasn't terrible. Plan 9 and Manos were frickin' horrible.

                      Re: Best star trek series.

I rather liked Voyager. The only truly spectacular episode that comes to mind is Relativity. That's Seven of Nine at her best. It also freaked me out, I mean imagine seeing yourself getting injured and practically dying in front of you. (well not dying but was suffering from another ailment.)

TNG was too old graphic wise, and TOS was beyond ancient.
They should have never done Enterprise. Instead they should have gone with "Starfleet Academy". haha. Imagine Dawson's Creek with a Star Trek Theme. (wait maybe that's one of those drunken ideas I had... I dunno)

Ok I'll grant in Voyager 7 of 69 was interesting but not enough to make up for the rest.
