Since it really doesn't matter who the individual 'running' a country is, who cares what kind of shape they're in or if they die while holding office.

Oh it matters quite a bit who the individual is. It also is important if they aren't flawed mentally. I don't want to offend you but I find your comment quite flawed and ignorant. In the hierarchy of this country, there are different groups vying for the top seat. Each group has their own agenda. Within these groups, certain individuals wield different levels of power. When a group gets one of their own into the presidential office, they hold sway over the country and use that to achieve their agenda. The person in the group that holds the seat of president does have influence over the entire group. He can tow the line or not, and he can use this advantage to influence people in his group and basically get his way. While they in turn have influence on him, he is in no way neutered and just a pawn. The amount of influence the president has over people in this country alone is staggering, not to mention the influence he wields in other countries. To put someone that could have diminished mental capacity into this seat could possibly have world changing implications.

Thats nice, but the Government still says you have to apply for it.

Also there are other laws that apply if only one of the parents is an American citizen depending on when the child was born.

Either way you have to apply for naturalization as otherwise the state has no clue who or what you are.

The thing is, arguing about the potential mental capacity of the person in the office of the president being a cause for concern based simply on the fact that he's over the age of 40 is a bit ridiculous. The chances of someone getting to the point of actually being elected while hiding serious mental deficiencies is almost nonexistant. And if someone did get elected in that state, or later found themselves to be failing, there is an entire series of other people, and heck, entire branches of the governing power to deal with that situation.

Just because one old man is senile doesn't mean that they all are, and basing an argument around it is little more than straw-manning.

a) There is a qualifier in that statement, find a dictionary and look up the word 'may.'
b) Read past the first line and look at all that paperwork, then look at the title of the page. There is an application that has to be made and there might be a way to speed up the process.

B- Read the stuff past that line instead of skimming and seeing various things that have numbers in them. That's talking about naturalizing your child if they don't meet the requirements for citizenships.

First off I never said that we should be concerned about people in their 40's, I expressed concern for elderly people who are generally considered 60-65+. Ronald Reagan had a form of dementia while in office (Alzheimer's). It has happened and will happen in the future as long as we do not have an age cap. Even someone suffering from a mild form of dementia still wields too much power as the president.

That "one old man" can change the course of history, determine if thousands of young men and women in the military live or die, influence our relationships with hostile nations, etc.......I'd call that pretty important and worth having an age cap just in case it would happen again.

I for one hope that who ever gets voted in by the US citizens would kindly remove their hand from our PM's arse, i am tired of our Pm's being puppets of the US. We got dragged into Iraq (quoted in a few newspapers as a political friendly jesture of our government) we have been embarrased in following bush and his many mistakes and questionable actions like a lap dog of which we the public have no say on!
