Malacite: actually, when I was a kid I had a Siberian Lynx for a pet.
Which means that not only is it not confined to Canadia, but you should also call Dr. Mario, 'cause you just got 1-UPPED.
seriously though, it was fun. She used to tackle me, we had to keep her in a pig harness so mom could pull her off me. Instead of giving her a kennel, she got the entire laundry room to mess around in. Feeding her was a bit of a pain, we had to drive like fourty minutes out of town to get to the one grocery store anywhere near us that would sell us crates full of raw turkey legs, the only thing she'd eat (one time they didn't have any, and we tried chicken legs. She was NOT happy.)
We never had anything on our fireplace mantle, so sometimes she'd jump up there (think about how far off the ground that is, and how narrow a space it is to land on) and lie down. Which was fun, because guests would walk in and not really think about it, or think it was stuffed and so on. Until they noticed it was moving...Comment

Well it scared the shit out of my dad when he came to visit, but again it didn't like eating anything but raw turkey legs. It was funny though, my dad saw it and freaked the hell out. He was amazed that we had a cat larger than his dog (I don't think it was actually larger, maybe a few inches taller, but his dog was BIG.). Of course, I had a six inch scratch on my shoulder from playing with her, he noticed that and went insane. which is pretty odd for someone that beat their wife and son, but still.He was forced to sell it when it ate his parents.
Although this one time this guy that was staying with us went to the bathroom, and got stuck there because the cat was standing there and he was too afraid to leave. Must've been like that for an hour or two before I got home from school, and then it was probably another bit of time before mom got home for him to finally feel safe getting away from Nikki. Poor guy even tried to get out through the attic, but couldn't go anywhere.
I don't remember very clearly why we had to sell it, I think it was a combination of scared neighbors and the police not liking it or something. We sent her to some cat reserve in Oregon that had a lot of lynxes, I haven't heard or seen of her since. Although even just getting here there was a huge pain. We had had her booked on FedEx or UPS or some company like that to fly her out there, get her in her crate, get her doped up (she couldn't be in moving vehicles without either being knocked out or getting very sick, and lynx vomit isn't something anyone wants to deal with), got her to the airport, and the guy there was like "what the fuck is that?!", eventually they said they couldn't ship her because it was too dangerous or something, even though she was in her cage the entire time, just like any other animal. Eventually we had to go with some local company that specialized in shipping animals.
Good times, though. Good times.Comment
