Depressing news ... :(

My mom called me while I was in class today and told me that one of our dogs, Shadow, has cancer and is going to die soon. I'm really pretty upset about it, she's only 8 or 9 years old, and you know how pets are part of the family.

I just really wanted to tell someone, it kind of eases my mind to know that people are listening, even if they don't really care.

that sucks. we lost two pets a couple christmas's back and it was pretty tough

Sorry to hear it. It's always sad when a pet dies. Especially one you've had for so long.

I'm really sorry for you loss.

For some reason animals seem to get cancer a lot. My paraqueet (sp?) died of cancer, my last dog died of stomach cancer, my cat had cancer which caused her to somehow have a debilitating seizure (I don't see the relation, but its what the vet told us) ultimately leading to her slow death. Sometimes I wonder if its safe to live in my house...

I once had a Chow, had him for 9 years. I was so damn attached to him. I just cried when he passed away. It's been a couple years now, but I still get sad when I see a Chow somewhere.

Had a Shar-Pei that died a few years ago, the vet thought it was probably cancer. She ended up so weak that they couldn't even risk doing much to test the actual cause. It was hard as hell saying good-bye to her.

Over the past few years my childhood pets have begun to pass away. It's sad, but knowing you provided them with a leisure-filled life should be comforting.

Remeber, now, adopt older dogs!
