95% positive from critics, 91% of moviegoers polled seemed to like it. Seems people like it.

I'll take that movie over Enterprise, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek V, Nemesis and the whole second season of Voyager (aside from the Micheal McKean "The Thaw" episode, that was OK, but really only for him being in it).

My favorite ST movies are First Contact, Undiscovered Country and The Voyage Home - I really enjoyed them.

I liked TOS and TNG consistently throughout the entire series. I loved DS9 towards the end with the Dominion War. My favorite episode of Voyage is the one where they travel back to like 1999 - "Future's End", I think its called. I liked several Voyager episodes but Voyager and Enterprise were nothing in comparison to those that came before.

Enterprise wasn't bad but I didn't like Scott Bakula and I didn't feel that they went in the proper direction for the series. There was so much established canon and history that I would have loved them to explore but instead they just created new things and barely touched on established ideas.

I understand what your saying about the cast. I enjoy the movies but they are not able to go as deep into things with a movie as they can with a series.

If I really think about it, I feel that DS9 was the peak of Trek. I know alot of people will disagree but thats just how I feel.

I actually enjoyed DS9 about as much as TNG, but Sisko ended up being my favorite Star Trek captain.

He's got the diplomacy of Picard and the passion of Kirk, but he's also a bit more manipulative than either of them. He's not afraid to fight or tell someone to fuck off when diplomacy stop working, either. He's a bit of an ass, but he has reason to be. His base of operations is a sitting duck and its not starship, but a place of commerce and diplomacy. He's also a father

He just has a lot of things going for him that other captains didn't. That and he got a tiny badass warship with a cloaking device.

If I ever had the drive and money to start a project like that I would definitely go all the way and get functional LCARS touchscreens to control things with them.
