This movie is absolutely awesome! It really makes your mind think about what's going on. You can't simply sit down and turn off your brain and expect to grasp what is happening. The problem with a lot of movie reviewers is exactly that - they don't take the movie seriously enough in order to grasp the more advanced concepts involved in the movie.

There will be a bunch of things explained in The Matrix Revolutions. A lot of the stuff that was left unexplained from the first Matrix was explained in The Matrix Reloaded. The Matrix Revolutions will definetly bring conclusion to the trilogy. Thankfully we don't need to wait four years for it, only 5 months or so. Phew.

Oh, and I wouldn't suggest this movie to anyone who either hasn't seen the first movie, didn't understand the first movie, or has an IQ of less than 50. Just stay away like the plague if you fall under one of those three.

Umm...I don't think anyone posted anything about Smith not being an agent anymore, because at the beginning he said something like "thanks for setting me free" when he handed the package through the door slot. I just wanted to clear that up so there wasn't any confusion.:sweat:

While I really enjoyed Reloaded, I think it fell short of the first Matrix. For one thing, there is absolutely no character development in Reloaded. The characters are practically blank slates anyway, with very little to differentiate between then aside from savior figure, love interest, and unquestioning supporter. Though Neo is intended to be someone who "knows nothing" (research Socrates if you disagree, you'll find that Neo's story in the first Matrix is almost parallel to his), that doesn't mean he shouldn't be interesting. Perhaps it's difficult to find room for character development when attempting to make a film of such epic proportions, but there would have been plenty of leeway(sp?) had the fight scenes been cut down some, or at least that god-awful rave/sex scene been reduced/taken out.

My only other complaint has to do with something I had been worrying about since seeing the first Matrix. Neo is a completely omnipotent character. He can do anything! It's hard to hold a sense of drama when you know for a certainty that there are no limits to a character's power, though it did make for some great fight scenes, I'll admit. On a similar note, the Christian symbolism got a bit weird sometimes. I heard the Wachowski brothers intended to represent all religions in the Matrix films, and show how basically similar they are, but I couldn't see much aside from Neo=Jesus.

I know this probably sounds really negative, and I guess it is, but I did enjoy Reloaded a lot, and have seen it twice already. My favorite things about it were things like the scene with the Architect, which was probably the most thought provoking part of Reloaded, and the questions that were raised about choice. The Maravingian was pretty interesting, especially with the implications of his name (The Maravingians were an Christian sect who believed that Jesus consumated his relationship with Mary Magdelen, who in turn gave birth to a child). What this could mean in the Matrix, who knows, though I doubt it means that Trinity is pregnant, unless she somehow discovers this in less than a day, if Revolutions really does happen in such short a time.

I agree with the idea that the real world is in fact another part of the matrix, otherwise Neo's EMP thing doesn't make much sense.
This also fits into a theme of Reloaded, in that choice can be an allusion. The people of Zion have chosen to live in the real world, so they believe what they see to be the realy world. The machines allow them this chioce, but stop it before it can go too far. If this really isn't waht the Wachowski brothers intend to be revealed in the next film, they must be rather thickheaded to miss such a wonderful contribution to their story.

The other possible explantions being that something from Smith carried over to Neo, but I doubt that Smith, an Agent program, would be capable of disabling the squiddies like that. The other explanation is that Neo actually gained some kind of supernatural ability, but this would be a huge mistake on the accound of the Wachowski brothers, because one thing which makes The Matrix films so interesting is that it can show people performing extraordinary acts while still allowing the audience to feel that what they see is possible. Bringing these acts into real life would be too fantastic.

Anyway, that's enough ranting for me.

It is not "matrix-within-a-matrix" like so many people like to believe. That would be corney because a LOT of sci-fi's use that scapegoat and it's not original at all...and it would be stupid and meaningless because that would mean Neo wasn't really special at all...but he is!

I don't care if nobody believes me, but if you do I applaud your IQ. Oh and you can find the script to Revolutions floating around the net if you know where to look, this is how I know for a fact.

I HIGHLY DISAGREE with this statement. I think it would be a MUCH farther(and dumber) plot line if it WAS a Matrix within a matrix...if you watched alot of Sci-fi's you would know that this is a very OVERDONE thing...plus again, it totally negates the ENTIRE (secret) backplot of the story...which is:

Humans underestimated machines...machines evolved, egotism and overconfidence ruined mankind.

Machines are now underestimating humans(which is very apparent in the Architech's speech about how predictable humans are)....humans are evolving(Neo evolved...hence the EMP...this WILL be confirmed in Revolutions...it's in the script), it will either be the downfall of the machines...or a change, or something.

I will repeat incase anyone missed my main announcement: ITS NOT A MATRIX WITHIN A MATRIX....although you're free to think that if you want, it won't make any difference once your proved wrong when Revolutions comes out, and I'm sure the Wachowski brothers wanted people to speculate and not know what the hell is going on...and generally be confused.

Additional Notes:

Valacirca - They DO use alot of religional symbolism in the film(not just Christian), and I'm pretty sure they never said they were trying to include "EVERY" religion in the movie...because that's a very unrealistic thing to say.

The LONNNG rave dance scene was the only thing in the movie I had any problems with...I loved every other moment, and anyone who thinks the 100-smith fight didn't own ass can bite me.

There was a heck of a lot of action in this movie which was so good, such as the multiple smith fight, those two guys who turned invisible that fought neo, morpheus that fought another agent on top of the truck, and so on. The storyline has its good turning point now that smith was now free from being an agent, and the war with the machines.
