I heard a long time ago that he was seen leaving the set of TS but I heard awhile before that he was just gonna be a cameo in TS.

Well, here's hoping it's better than the Retconn PoS T3 was. Because as far as I'm concerned T2 was the real ending.

The theatrical(and official) ending for T2 left the ending wide open, it's only the alternate, unreleased cut that sets a peaceful future in stone.

That said, I was a touch disappointed in the direction taken with T3, but Salvation has potential to be the... salvation of the franchise.

What's wrong with Furlong? He played the only bad ass John Connor that we've known thus far, unlike the pussy-ass wimp played by Nick Stahl. That kid reminded me more of Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker than of Furlong's rebellious, snarky, slick, raised-to-be-a-guerrilla Connor.

Schwarzenegger never said that he'd be leaving for certain.

Just after the release of T2, an interview with him indicated that while it was likely that T2 would conclude the franchise, a T3 was not ruled out.

Not long after T3 released, Schwarzenegger never said he was finished with the series, just that he felt that it didn't need him to continue(as was evidenced in Kristanna Loken's T-X; any face can be around a metallic endoskeleton, after all). It was at the time he was campaigning for Governor(or already in office, I forget which), and it was obvious that official duties would prevent future mainstream roles, but he didn't rule out cameo and other minor parts.

Exactly, which is why the fact that he didn't play Connor on T3 due to his stupid addictions makes me want to mpk him.
