FFVII: Advent Children Complete (Blu-ray)

So I've been following info about the movie and how it will only be released in Japan for now, but I have some questions I'm wondering if anyone here would be able to answer.

1) BD regions include the US and the rest of america along with Japan in the same coding region.

Does that mean I'll be able to watch AC Complete without having restrictions on an american PS3?
(Save for not knowing much Japanese that is)


2) It is said it will come out mid 2007.

Has anyone heard about SE giving more specific info about it?

Most BDs these days are completely region-free. However, in the case of region locking, you are correct. If Advent Children Complete is region-locked, it won't affect anyone hoping to import from America. North America and Japan share the same region coding for Blu-ray. You'll be able to watch it on your PS3.

AC Complete was originally scheduled for December of last year but it would appear that it was pushed back because Nomura is extremely busy with Final Fantasy Versus XIII on PS3 and his other projects. He's apparently extremely involved with this "director's cut" high-def ultimate edition of the movie. The current date is, yes, mid-2007, but SE has not mentioned anything else regarding content of the film, other than it includes a 1080p transfer of the film with uncompressed audio; they haven't said anything about what codec they're using.

I'm really, really hoping they include the English dialogue and subtitles in the Japanese release, it seems like something SE would do. Hopefully that'll make it less of a wait with the option to import.

"Complete" until the next version.

When has anything with Final Fantasy really been complete? They're about to release FF1 in Japan for PSP, with revised graphics and sound, but otherwise its the GBA version with horrid load times added as a PSP bonus feature.

Final Fantasy is like K.I.S.S or Barbara Striesand, there's a farewell tour, but they'll be back; or its like Star Wars, Lucas will probably revise and add stuff again to take advantage in the latest in technology.

Its never really the last one so... lolComplete.

I eagerly await the next version of Final Fantasy on the Wii console, with more extras built on top of the PSP version. You know it will happen

It's the Blu-ray's director's cut version of Advent children.

It's gonna have some extra scenes and stuff like that, but the reason I'm interested in it (and why I ended up not buying the DVD) is that it'll be full HD.
