    Or maybe in DVD?..
The original miniseries from 2 years ago and both full seasons are out on DVD. I think the original miniseries is only the price of a normal movie.
Seriously, it rocks. Buy it, watch it, love it.

I personally liked the origional better, but the new one isn't bad. Definatly a lot more eye candy and action than the previous series. The differences in plot remind me of the difference in a sit down meal and a fast food joint. Both give you your fix but one holds a quicker pace and the other more substance.

          You better hide.
I remember watching the original when I was much younger, but going back and watching it now...its just so campy. That, and then when they get to Earth, its Earth c. 1982. Kind of a major letdown. Not to mention the spinoff show was absolutely terrible.
Anyway, I did like the original, but this one just has so much more substance.

            FRACKING ROCKS!
I wonder if they'll ever get to Earth There's a lot of talk about it, but for some reason, everyone forgets in the next episode
Remember when they actually got transported to earth for like 10 seconds? Never heard of that again

Another amazing episode tonight. And an expensive one. SciFi spared no expense for their best show.

Well it seems to me they made a point in the first season of haveing a female Cylon ask that question over and over again and then she asked that question also... subtle yet I kinda dig the idea of her as a cylon.

OMG the Battlestar Galactica season finale. I think I just had a faneurism.

2008, though? I can barely stand it.

Yeah, my head exploded. About three times.

This series really is excellent. I have no idea how I can wait nine months, though. Especially since this episode ended with about fifty questions.

Interesting bit of trivia, the Cylon headquarters in the original was filmed at the library at my Dad's college, while he was there in fact.

I can honestly say that my dad went to Cylon Tech

I hope the rumors about it coming to NBC are true, I have only seen the miniseries and I loved it, every second of it. It is everything that the abomination known as the Wing Commander movie should have been.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

                            Re: Battlestar Galactica

My b/f is an OCD fanboy of the new series. He keeps telling me I should see it, but we don't get the channel at my house. I could *buy* the series DVD sets, but that seems an exorberant waste of money on something I've never seen.

I adore Firefly, Stargate SG-1, and Star Wars, and yanno, Sci-Fi on the whole. Is BSG something I'd likely enjoy based on that?

Keep in mind, I prefer my sci-fi of the non-preaching type. I don't go for celebs, stars, and producers shoving their opinions of modern events down my throat through their work. I watch to be entertained, not preached at. If I wanted preaching, I'd start going back to church. (This is one reason I didn't like the second Legacy of the Force book... it was one lollerskate barely concealed 'omg wah, the war' commentary. Keep your Iraq-whining out of my Coruscant plzkthx.)

Is this more of a show for enjoyment, or is it super-serious veiled commentary?

Thankies for any answers. :p I'd like to know more before I went and rented/bought any of it.

I'd suggest at least renting the mini-series to see if you might like it, Telera. It's worth checking out, even for folks who aren't huge Sci-Fi fans. But chances are high that you'll like it.

Is the mini-series the short little one-disc thing I see lying around from time to time?

If that's the case, I would probably just outright buy that. I don't think it was that expensive when I saw it. Plus I've had some bad service at our local video rental and am not overly enthused about bothering with them anymore.

                                I'll look into that. Thankies~
