Google Chrome - Download a new browser

I've been converted. (somewhat)

Its a new browser made by Google that I only got to know today, its pretty awesome simply because of its simplicity and lightness.

Chrome can/does phone home with EVERYTHING you may ever post from it. You may only deal with silly forum stuff from your browser, but other people access web apps on internal networks that are used for more sensitive information. Using Chrome with that can/will send that information to google and gives Google a carte blanche license to use and distribute all that information as they see fit.

It also allows Google to store and use, if they so wanted to, your credit card information if you ever buy something online with Chrome.

Chromes only real benefit is from faster Javascript handling, and that comes from WebKit, not anything Google did. I'll stick with Safari 4.

Anyone recommend a decent search engine? Suddenly I don't feel comfortable using Google any more.

That's very true Mhurron. I'll still use GC as a secondary browser, its so fast atleast on my computer that I cry tears of joy whenever I use it. However not having FFox's selection of plugins that make it so special, I will probably never change to a new browser anytime soon.

Nazo: I used to use Metasearch Search Engine - Search.com way back when. It's more of a search engine searcher (they obtain results from quite a few different search engines, which may include google), and it's done by CNet, which is a pretty big name in computing and online stuff.

Google is "working on removing" section 11 of the ToS, which is the one you're talking about. I don't know what would "need to be worked on" for something in type... but whatever.
