Hey guys I'm been wanting to buit my own PC for sometime now and i'm ready to do it so this is what I have come up with what do you guys think?

This should run games like FFXI and HL2 just fine right?

You could run FFXI on a amd 700mhz w/ 64mb of ram and a GF4000mx 32mb pci.

Some how, i don't think you will have any problems.

I'm not a fan of the case, and I'm more of an nVidia person...

But it looks like you're going to make a pretty nice machine! Looks good. Good luck and keep us updated on the results.

well I always like Nvida too but I have been hearing lots of stuff lately that ATI cards work better on FFXI then Nvida something about the shading..something like that so thats why I went with the whole ATI

I really like the MB with the 8GB cap most i've seen are only 4GB also its ready for me when I want to upgrade for the dual video cards

also should I buy a PSU, or do u think that stock one that came with the case is good?

just trying to get as much info as I can as this is my 1st custum PC

1.Buy an Antec case power supply combo its not a Xtreme gamer cases but those aspire psu's are considered crappy. The Antec cases offer good cooling and a quality psu and a excellent price/performance raito.

2.With a 1600 crossfire is well uselses personally I would buy a Nvidia ultra based board they a lot of nice extra features like firewall.

3.3800+ Nice should run ffxi fine. (I hope your wateing for price the price breaks)

4.Samsung Hard drives great and that model is know for being one of the most quite 7200 Rpm drives on the market. (fluid dynamic bearings) I have the 250gb version I love it.

5.I have a Samsung DVD burner and yes it is nice but you my want to consider A Pioneer drive they are selling for $40, unfortunately pioneer stopped making computer drives they were known as one of the best.

6.If you are not planing on upgradeing for a year or more I would build a amd 64 system(939), sure its at the end of it's upgrade path but under AM2 4200+ the DDR memory is accually faster due to the lower memory timeings.

Little Note DO NOT buy any motherboards with fans on the north bridges it is the loudest fan in my case

I suppose you can try using the one that came with the case, but you also have to reasearch how much your video card(s) power they will be drawing from the PSU, so you may eventually want to buy one with more watts. Not just video cards, either... what about HDD's? Are you buying 2 of them to set up a RAID?

Thermaltake, Antec, or Cooler Master would be my choices for PSU's.

Thermaltake PSU's have weak +12 rails (the most inportant rail)
And coolermaster is only midrange quality on there psu's

I would go with Antec, Seasonic (I have one it kicks ass) Forton Source, Enermax, Silverstone and maby Zalman.

With a 1600 crossfire is well uselses:

so this card would suck at running XI? I was just really looking for a card that would run XI really well and upgrade later on

Cross Fire is the name of ATI's Dual card Solution just like Nvidia's SLI

The x1600 is a ok videocard and ffxi is limited by your cpu speed anyways.

You can run a Nvidia card on a crossfire motherboard and a ATI card on a SLI motherboard, But you can not run 2 Nvidia cards on a ATI Crossfire motherboard and vice virsa.

Sorry I should of pointed out what was meaning was paying extra for a motherboard that can use 2 video cards is pointless.

For refrence Coolermaster and Thermaltake do make good computer cases. But try and get a case that uses 120mm fans for better airflow and lower noise.

and this case looks ok for the money its on sale.

NZXT makes ok gamer looking cases, they get ok reviews.

The coolermaster directions may as well have been left in chinese

Also with AMD64 for best performance Use only two sticks of memory. Using 4 sticks drops your memory speed down to 333mhz and t2 timings, you can normally get your memory speed back up to 400mhz but with four sticks you can Never run T1 timings. (its a common mistake people make)

I should of found that one. But ill stand by my Lain-Li case, would of been sweet water cooled computer
