You can't. If you don't want to get a dvd drive, do what I did for the expansion and look for torrents online. Then, install the game and go out and buy the packages for the game and expansion. Then use the codes from the packages to register the game.

upgrade about 50 bucks _atleast_, probably more
dvd probably cheapest is around 20 bucks, who knows

do your own research man, youre the one who knows what you want

check the minimum requirements on the playonline site, thats the least you need..

You need to decide what you need to buy in order to play the game. But for the minimum system requirements you would just need a dvd drive. This is the offical system requirements web page http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/beginners/win/

Now for shoping this is basically pricegrabber but i like useing it alittle more to shop around and find stuff for the best price.

Dvd drive i would say 20-30dollars for a good dvd drive. If you want 2 save some money buy a Brand name OEM dvd drive (basically it will have no retail box and may or may not have software and cables included, its what system builders use to build new computers)

Videocard I would try 2 get a ati 9600 or a nvidia 6200 those should be just fine for this game and can be bought for under 50 dollars (the ati cards are the better deals in this price range)

Memory should be 20-30 bucks. You will need 2 figure out what type of memory. This software sandra should be able 2 you figure out what kind of memory you have in your pc and other system info.

my PC scored 4116, ranking it as Incredibly tough.

I've got an Athlon 3100, 1gb of Ram and an ATI Radeon 9550 128mb.

i run the game in high res and barely ever get a lowered frame rate. so from what you've got at the moment, i'd say boost the ram and get a better video card, and you'll be ok to run at default, which is still pretty good.

oh, and don't worry about getting Aht Urghan yet, you won't be able to do ANYTHING on that for a fair while, save your money and see how you like the game first before buying the expansions.

My amd 2000+ that i talked about in my 1st post score's 3k in high and 4k in low in vana'diel bench just for refrence, so with the upgrades that pc will not be bad for ffxi. amd 2000+ 512mb and a raidon 9550 (256 mb ver). Now im not sure how pricey it will be to upgrade where there are, but maby they can pick up a videocard used. (thats the most expensive part) and you will only need a dvd drive for installing the game so if you know some one with a dvd drive

It would be most helpful to get 512MB of RAM. RAM really isn't that expensive these days.

And if you can, try to upgrade your video to at least 128MB. Some of the lower end Radeon and GeForce cards are also pretty cheap nowadays. I'm still using the Radeon 9600XT on my PC that I bought about 3 years ago for $200. It's probably much less than that now.

you dont understand the very basics of .. anything, you dont understand a minimum requirement list, you dont know prices, you dont know how to do anything... you cant expect people to do everything for you, check some prices on the internet, look at the stuff people have given you, look at your computer specs and compare, go to stores around you and check for pricings
