  • Toshiba Sattelite M40 problems

Hi, I have a Toshiba, its a Satellite M40 with the Radeon X600 SE, it's a Pentium with 2,0 Ghz processor and 1Gb of RAM, I run the Benchmark perectly well and i get about 3900 in High resolution.

Well I installed the game and with the best graphic resolution I would expect it to run perfectly but no, it runs slowly and it has frame stops when I rotate the cammera, in my desktop i dont get a benchmark as high but the game runs much better...anyone know what causes this and what I can do to take care of this problem? If I get a benchmark as high the game should run pretty well...

Also, this notebook has a 16:9 screen...what can i do to get correct resolution to a 16:9 screen? ffxi doesn't suport it right? but can i do something in Run>Regedit?

    Thank you for your time.

about the screen, theres ingame options for that, check the config options ingame

about the game running slowly, laptops.. ._.; theyre allways unpredictable, my laptop runs the game easily, it has 3ghz and a mobility radeon 64mb i think, however in the benchmark, it got a easy prey score.. it's weird. cant really explain the reason

        Re: Toshiba Sattelite M40 problems

could be a slow HD. do you notice the HD churning when things get sluggish?

could be background apps running. stop/remove any unnecessary programs from using up system resources.

        Thanks Yyg!

            Re: Toshiba Sattelite M40 problems

i have a x300 on my laptop with 128mb video ram.
I can't use the drivers from ATI do to dell had edit the hardware.

            I was told about http://omegadrivers.net/

After i installed the driver from omegadrivers, no more lag in lower jeuno the FPS still drop but no more video lag and i have it runing at 1440x900 16x9 in game. If you are going to use the driver follow what the installer says to do.(its going to tell you to uninstall the ATI control panel) If you like i can run the benchmark prog and post what i get XD

I installed the Omega drivers v 3.8.231 on the notebook but the game runs as slowly as before...are there any configuration changes i need to make?

I run the bench 3 and i got 3300, the same i did with the bench 3 with the ati drivers.

                hmm

When i installed the drivers i didn't set it, i had omega set it up from install, when i did my test i got 3500(VT+)

from what it sounds like you have some thing runing on your system that you don't know about. Best to do is check on all your hardware to see if they are up to date like morthboard, sound card, display drivers.
