Starting Up

Ok Dudes here it is. I went through the instalation and the registration. All 2 hours of it. Here is my problem. When I go to create a new character my screen goes blank. I can still hear the music playing and I can still hear my cursor move over a link but I cant see any of it. When I get out of the game I have an error onj my Play Online viewer that says :


"Terminated as error occured in FINAL FANTASY XI. Full-screen mode was lost. (-1)"


I had already downloaded the bench and my score was just fine. I have no idea how to fix this problem and would really like to play. You can all understand how frustrating it is to want to play something you paid for and not be able too. So if someone has any ideas on how this problem can be fixed it would be greatly appriciated.

try using simplified character creation screen (it's in the ffxi config in start/programs/playonline/ffxi), some people have that problem, and that's why they have this.... its the last tab, bottom checkbox


btw, full mode lost error was because you switched focus out of ffxi. this game requires you to ALWAYS keep focuz on it, much like counter-strike would lose all sound if you tabbed back in the days of 1.5.
