FFXI Error Message, Please help!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to put this error message in, but it fit the closest to me.
I've been playing FFXI for a few months with no problems but earlier today I encountered an error message when double clicking on my Playonline icon.
The error message was this: Error Code:20008014
Cannot open registry key for install path of Playonline compatible software.
ID=1000

Any help with this would be greatly appreciiated as I have no clue on how to solve this problem.

most likely a registry key was deleted... maybe virus, stupidity when trying "registry hacks", or some comp glitch.....

if you can find out which key was deleted, you can just add it again... or if you're lazy, reinstall or repair install may work (dunno if it has repair outside of POL viewer..
