  • Does this happen to you?

Lately, my internet has been acting different. While playing ffxi, I would see my R slowly decrease to around 10%, or 20% , then it would just jump back up to 100%. At times, it would happen every 5 minutes, but sometimes it wont happen for awhile.

I then noticed it happening in just about every other online game, and when surfing the web also.

My internet is High speed Sympatico(connected by phone line), I haven't made any recent changes that may have caused this to happen. Please offer any kind of adivce which can help me with this problem, I wont be able to party in ffxi with until this is fixed :dead:

    Thanks for any help offered

So you basically lag more then usual when playing FFXI and it also lags when doing anything online? I had a problem similar to this, I would lag half the time on FFXI (and lag doing anything online as well).
I think it might be the same problem as I'm on 56k and your through a phoneline too (56k?).
You can check if it is the same things, phone your phone into the line where you computer is connected then pick on the phone and listen to see if you hear any static. If you do hear any static then it's your lines. When I did this my problem had grown so there was a "lot" of static. You might also want to call your phone company to check the lines if you're not sure. Worked for me ^-^b hope it works for you. My problem was with the lines and it was called "Line Noise" so it might be the same thing for you.

if you happen to have wireless networking, problem may be interfearance by anything from phone to microwave ovens..

if you don't, first check for adware/spyware/viruses, these three are thee cause of 99% of most people's problems (exaggeration, but you get the point).

Thx for all replies, but I got the problem fixed. It turns out that I forgot to put a filter on one of the new phones I got, and it was causing it to mess up.
