  • Using your TV as a PC monitor

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can get a cable (TV-out is it?) to connect my PC to my TV?

I hate sitting at my PC playing this game, so I've been thinking of moving the thing to the TV so I can relaxe a bit more (during the long tedious hours of farming or NM hunting)

My video card is Geforce Ti 4200 128mb. I'm not even sure if this card can do it. But it has got other connections availible at the back, and I can remember their being a lead that came with the card, but because i bought it ages ago, I cant find it.

So can anyone point me out to a lead I can buy? Or give me any info on what i need to do to set everything up.

    Thanks

    :EDIT:

OK, I've been searching the net for awhile trying to get some information. And I've read that the imagine quality is terrible if using a TV.

But wouldn't that depend on the TV? I am going to use the spare TV which is like 32 inch screen (not flat). It supports ntsc & pal.... but its about 6 years old.

Does it work like, the newer the TV, the better quality imagine you'll have?

    It can be done!
    I use a 21" flat screen tv with a 64 meg Gforce.
The catch is I use S-video not co-axil(cable).
I bought the tv just for it's S-video.

The only draw back is that you have to leave the computer's resolution at 640X480 and run final Fantasy at the same res or you won't be able to read anything.
Even Then the search option when looking for a party is a pain to read.

Yeah I'm such a media nerd

But I love my Entertainment center!

wow... thats kind of a dissapointment.

640X480 anything higher and its gets unplayable?.... there MUST be some sort of device that enables it to work with higher resolutions.

the image is bad due to the low rez or tv screens in general, though if you had 1080p HD TV, it would be good rez for anything...

if you have a comp monitor, go for comp monitor over tv, though you can do whichever you feel like.

most new tvs have about 6400x480 rez, but HD tvs and computer monitor ready LCD screens have much better than vga rez.
